I suggest Plasma , you get a better deal and a better more realistic picture. Check out Panasonic Offerings in the S series.Dan

For a grand you could score a 55" ... TCP55ST30.2-Channel: PC > Schiit Eitr > Audio Research DAC-8 > Audio Research LS-26 > Pass Labs X-250.5 > Magnepan 3.7's
Living Room: PC > Marantz AV-7703 > Emotiva XPA-5 > Sonus Faber Liuto Towers, Sonus Faber Liuto Center, Sonus Faber Liuto Bookshelves > Dual SVS PC12-Pluses
Office: Phone/Tablet > AudioEngine B1 > McIntosh D100 > Bryston 4B-ST > Polk Audio LSiM-703's -
Totally agree with mantis and falconcry72. Plasma is WAY better route to go. But you asked for LED

If your still looking for LED. Tiger Direct has a 55'' ( LG 55LVL4400 55 Class LED HDTV ) refurb with warrenty $800. Panny Plasma still the better option IMO.

Are you going to show the same picture on it 24/7? Otherwise, not much burn-in, at least not on my Panasonic. If the TV will be in the brightly lit room, LCD/LED panel is most likely a better solution. Otherwise, go with the plasma (Panasonic and Samsung will give better picture quality).
Oh yeah, not sure about the quality but $/size is most likely the new Sharp LCD.Panasonic PT-AE4000U projector for movies
