Im new to the polk family just wanted to post some personal feed back on the dxi to people having thoughts on them. Out freakin standing is all I can say . I had a car audio bug and decided to redo my system . Headunit Alpine iva203..old speakers front Jl zr650 csi to dxi 6500 old rear speakers Jl 650 ..new dxi650..old amps 2 Alpine pdx f6 150.4 ...new 2 polk pa660s ..the outcome is Wow!!!! I paid $900 when Jl came out w/ the zr's fancy looking, crossovers super fancy bi amp vs polk basic sleeper look well guys and gals polk did a fantastic job! please don't be fooled by the fancy over priced look ..everyone has there opinion but I have spent $$$$$$ from pioneers premier, alpines x series, etc etc I listen to everything and by far polk will be my last stop. It's funny I have a polk home audio set up and not once thought about the car audio ..oh and the marine certified ..to sum up my review this last set cost me $900 for just a component set ..I still spent under that w my whole polk set up..oh and there amps even rated 4 x 75 they are rated more then stated and still blew my pdx f6' s out the features and adjustables are plentiful unlike alpines amps if you have one you know..

Ps.....remember buying the smaller footprint amps forces them to really work so competitors with these mini amps are mostly D amps and not the well rounded AB amps .. forcing the D footprints to constantly switch there transistors vs the mosfet bipolar setup can cause inconsistentcy in the performance and cooling...

I might have the same ones, only an older model. Mine a 5.5 years old now, run by a 4 channel polk amp (don't remember models any more) I went through many brands in just a couple of year and most of them got blown. Polk ended my journey for car speakers. I still love the sound in my car as the day I first installed them. Complemented by a 12" sealed Polk sub run by a pioneer elite sub, and a 5 fahrad cap. Even with the capacitor my headlights blink a little on the subwoofer beats. But I've had BMW and Mercedes owners encvy the sound in my car..

I have my opinion on caps. I've read a lot on them and seen a lot of systems with them I go by what ever it calls for volts and amp wise I run 2 amps with a code split 4 guage in and 8 guage to both amps and have had no issues thus far..with you having a 5 fared cap you shouldn't have any problems if its working like they say they should.

if you have never used a cap in the car I recommend getting one even if just to try. They are relatively inexpensive and easy to wire. The difference is very easy to notice, unlike many other upgrades. At least if you have a system that draws too much peak power from your battery. But with a good subwoofer that will always be the case. Frankly, with all these amps i don't know how your battery is handling the peak power. My car was really bad before the capacitor, i was concerned I may damage some electronic equipment because of the blackouts on every beat. Even now I notice the dashboard pulsing slightly at night but only if I stare at it. Before when I stop in front of the garage with the headlights on you could see the severe disruptions that the sub draw was causing. For me it was more to take care of a concern than to improve quality. As far as quality.. I didn't detect much of a differece in the speakers but the sub had some extra kick. I think. Not groundbraking improvement but some. My healights though DEFINITELY stopped blinking :)

The Pa660's are only putting out a min of 75 x4 I think that the fact Im using 8 awg instead of 4 its not drawing the full brunt of power but still drawing what it needs ..Im using a interstate megatron batt ill post some pics soon

I just got the pa330 to compliment the 660 ...what I should've done is bypassed the 660 and purchased 2 330's but oh well now the fun part putting everything together. Any suggestions. HU - Alpine iva203 fronts- dxi6500 rear- dxi650 amps- pa660 & pa330
