I got a lsic for a good price . But it seems to have mid range come from only one speaker in front and bass from the other. Never heard this speaker before . Is that how its suppose to be?

Yes. Those two speakers are have different x-overs. Check it out on the spec page. Lots of discussion found by searching for it.

So, forgive me for being dumb founded. But are you saying that this center with it's two 5 1/4 midranges will only produce midrange signals form one of those midranges. He hears midranges from one of the drivers and only low bass signal from the other. In other words, he hears more midrange from one driver than from the other.Since this is a center channel why would not both midranges produce the same signal and the tweeter produce the highs?HT System

dekuda, why the speaker was set up this way is a engineering question I can't answer for you. But if you search "Cascade Tapered Array" , you'll find plenty of discussion on it.Frank

this is a common mtm arrangement in center speakers, and one that many of polks centers follows. The one that it was most obvious to me with was the cs400i. It is mainly to avoid lobbing effects and effect wider dispersion.Living Room 2.2: Usher BE-718 "tiny dancers"; Dual DIY Dayton audio RSS210HF-4 Subs with Dayton SPA-250 amps; Arcam SA30; Musical Fidelity A308; Sony UBP-x1000es

Thank you for all your help. Almost took center back . Now I know not to worry about the Lsi15s when they come. Talked to Polk they call it a cascade type crossover .
