Squeezebox Touch Experts-Help me out here

I have a Squeezebox Touch hooked up with my Simaudio DAC via a coaxial cable. The SBT is hooked into my wireless router via cat5 and the router itself is hooked into my laptop via cat5. Now here is my problem. When I play a 24/192 .flac file the DAC only sees a 24/96 bitrate. I know the DAC isn't the problem because it switches well between other sampling rates. Does it not see 24/192 due to the cat5 connection between my router and laptop, or does the SBT not support 24/192 files? Or, is it a problem somewhere with the Windows 7 operating system? Any input is appreciated. See sig for my gear used.

    Windows 7 has nothing to do with running the SQB. The SQB software runs the SQB. I would go to the Logitech SQB forums and see if other have this issue. If I had to make an educated guess without doing any research, perhaps the SQB or the SQB software only supports 24/96 bitrate and won't pass anything higher. You'll have to get your search on.

    Where did you get a 24/192 FLAC file?

    That was one of my thoughts also. I have bought all of my 24/192 albums from HD Tracks.

    Are you 100% sure they are actually 24/192? HD Tracks has been known to "overstate" some of their specifications. You really should go over the BB at SQB forums I'm sure this has come up before.

    It's funny you mention that. I have read the same thing about HD Tracks myself. Squeezebox shows them as 24/192, but I believe that is due to how they are tagged.

    Even with an external DAC that supports up to 24/192?

    yes, even with the external DAC b/c the touch stock, can't send it digitally at 24/192.. however Audiostream.com http://www.audiostream.com/content/get-usb-dac-and-24196-digital-output-your-squeezebox-touch made mention of a new app for the Touch that adds USB out functionality as well well as giving it 24/192, now i haven't tried the third party app, but its going to be the only way for it to send a 24/192 file.
    Main 2ch -
    BlueSound Node->Ethereal optical cable->Peachtree Audio Nova 150->GoldenEar Triton 2+
    TT - Pro-ject Classic SB with Sumiko Bluepoint.

    TV 3.1 system -
    Denon 3500 -> Dynaudio Excite 32/22

    OK, Got it. A fellow on the SBT Forum set me up with a file app that will allow the 24/192 files. Thanks, guys!
