Lost stereo image

I just connected my PSW10. I used Option 2 because my receiver does not have a sub-woofer output. I checked very carefully to follow the directions, red to red, black to black. Everything sounds pretty good, but I have lost stereo. Both speakers are playing the same signal, and when I turn the Balance control from L to R and back, there is not effect.
I had normal stereo functioning right before I attached the subwoofer.
Any thoughts?

What is option 2?Political Correctness'.........defined

What is option 2?
It comes right after option 1 and precedes option 3. Everyone knows that Jesse "Appreciation of audio is a completely subjective human experience. Measurements can provide a measure of insight, but are no substitute for human judgment. Why are we looking to reduce a subjective experience to objective criteria anyway? I believe option 1 was was using the subwoofer output on his receiver which his receiver doesn't have.Home Theater

Yes, Option 1 was the subwoofer output, which I don't have. Option 2 is to take the signal off of the speaker wires. I connected the speaker wires from my amplifier to the Speaker In clips on the subwoofer, and then wired my speakers to the Speaker Out clips on the subwoofer.
Given that the sub combines the L and R signals (below the low pass filter) loss of stereo image might be expected, but the circuitry in the subwoofer should handled that in some way. I suspect I made some kind of rooky mistake, but I can't figure out what it is. Still looking for advice or insight.
Thanks, everyone, in advance. -
Hello BH,
As a test take either the right or left channel out of the sub's circuitry and connect the positive/negative speaker in and out together. In effect removing the sub from one of the channels. See how this effects the stereo image.
