Pioneer vsx series receivers have 48 bit processing vs denon(*803) 32 bit processing. Which one is better. I would be using the reciever for 60% movies and 40% music. Any recommendations? I Just bought RTI70s. Planning to buy Csi30 for center and Fxi30 for surround, PSW404 for sub. Not decided on receiver yet.

I'VE ALWAYS USED PIONEER PRODUCTS. I OWN THE 45TX. I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT. THIS FORUM IS PRETTY LOYAL TO DENON THOUGH.

    Guys,
I have used Yamaha (still have my RX-V870 and Pioneer (picked up an Elite VSX-47TX @ 1 month ago) receivers. The Yamaha has been moved to my small living room, and the Pioneer has replaced it in the family room. I have not used Denon, but yes - folks swear by Denon on this list. The Yamaha's (RX-V's) and Pioneer's (only experience is with the Elite 47TX) kick butt. In fact I am very, very impressed with the 47TX, both the sound and its impeccable build quality. FYI, the following link is for a test (Sound & Vision) on the 49TX, which shares an identical amplifier section to the 47TX. The 45TX that you are speaking about might not have the power of the 47 or 49TX, but surely shares the guts and build quality of the Elite series.

    Just my thoughts.

I just wanted to buy the right receiver for my Polk speakers.

    Denon owners,
Can you let me know why you went with Denon over Pioneer?

    Pioneer owners,
Can you let me know why you opted pioneer over Denon?

This post is not to start a fight over which receiver is better. Please post your decision making features in your receiver.

    Thank you:)

    I can help,

I have plenty experience with both Pioneer Elite and Denon.

Denon......one of the very best if not the best japanese receivers on the market today. They are feature driven and have good clean outputting AMPS.Custom they are. They have excellent hookups and a very useful menu system.

Pioneer Elite.....as the Elite name applies, they can compete with anyone.Mcacc is big with them as well as THX processing.Pioneer does it right. There amp sections surpass the older models. There output is much better.Custom also they are.2nd zone is a breeze.

Now comparing the 2..they sound almost Identical.Shooking as I demo'd them against each other 100's of times. When the new models come out,I demo them and against each other.

Driving Polk Rt series speakers,Denon is such a perfect match.Pioneer Elite does a wonderful job as well.Very neutral.

You can't pick the wrong receiver here for sound quality. You need to look at the features and decide which has what you want to do today and tomarrow.

If you need more help....talk to me,

I just so happen to have my old 43TX (Replaced by a Rotel RSX-1065) out on ebay if your interested. I won't talk to the Pioneer vs. Denon debate since I'm unfairly biased. You won't go wrong either way.
