Im in the process of refurbing the crossovers for my SRS (circa 1988) and SRS 2.3's, what are the guidelines for replacing the tweeters... RD0-194's or 198's? are they just direct replacement? or do I need to consider the crossover components used to reflect the new drivers if I get them?

Thanks ahead for the knowledge.

Look at the back of the tweeters for the part number.

Drop-in replacements (no changes are required)
    RDO194-1 replaces the SL2000
    RDO198-1 replaces the SL3000

The RDO's can be had from Polk, Tell them your a CP member or free shipping & maybe a discount.

Thanks for the help and knowledge... Is it you the that fabricates/gets the crossover boards? I would be interested in some boards for my 1989 SDA CRS+...are they even available right now... or are there orders placed every so often? I thought I saw posts from aways back about orders for these boards being placed. Also, do the stock Polk crossovers have the nylon multi-pins on them or is that a feature of the these new fabricated boards?

    Thanks again.

Your welcome, And yes I'm the guy who designed and sells the new custom crossover PCB's for the SDA's. Right at the moment I'm out of boards, Just waiting for the batch I ordered to get finished and shipped to me. You want me to to put you on the "First dib's List". Now keep in mind for the CRS+ that the boards will not fit in the stock place they'll have to be mounted to the inside top. Check this thread out My SDA CRS+ Upgrade Thread for more detail starting at post #7.

Yes most all the stock single board style crossovers have the Vertical Pin Headers (nylon multi-pins), My boards use the same size & style Vertical Pin Headers as the stock boards so there's nothing you have to do to the internal wiring it's just plug & play.

Easier way to see is how they look. Is the dome silver or black? Silver is the SL2000, Black is the SL3000.

I believe the original SRS is the SL2000 not sure on the 2.3's. if they are 2.3TL's they are the SL3000 if not they are the SL2000.

all TL's had sl3000's hence the name Tri-Laminate tweeter.

Somtimes the sl3000 domes can look goldish to a bronze color. Another way to tell if the color part is confusing is the sl3000 has a black foam ring around the dome on the bezel.

    This is assuming stock tweeters.

No offense guys but wouldn't it be easier to just pull a tweeter and look at the part number. That way there's no guessing.

If one can't visually tell, since they are VERY different looking by a lot, no not really. But it certainly wouldn't hurt to pull it as a way to verify. All the descriptors are very clear and especially the black foam around the dome is unmistakeable and ONLY used on the sl2500 and sl3000 tweets. Not on the RD0's, not on the sl2000, not on the sl1000 and not on any of the peerless.
