Looking at 9.2 AVR/processors...suggestions.

Just as the title says, I'm looking to move to a 9.2 AVR or processor. I'm trying to keep it under $2,500.00 for either new or used. Pretty much a 80/20 split in favor of HT. I've looked at quite a few so far & the one that sticks out is the Yamaha AVENTAGE RX-a3010. Under 2k brand new...I never owned a Yammie or pretty much anything else except NAD & Onkyo. I'm game to try something new. I'm certainly keeping my Rotel RMB-1095 amp so I don't have to worry about power. Just good, clean sound & future proof for a few years to come. If that's possible? Any thoughts or suggestions, them 'em my way will 'ya!!!

I would go for xt32 in something

Take a look at the Denon AVR-4311CI. Should be roughly around your price range, has MultEQ XT32 and is 9.2. The Yamaha's no slouch... but it won't have Audyssey DSX (which, for my money, is the best of the 9.1 algorithms) - just Yamaha's Cinema DSP. I don't even know that the Yamahas have Dolby Pro-Logic IIz, and their website doesn't seem to say.Equipment list:
Onkyo TX-NR3010 9.2 AVR
Emotiva XPA-3 amp
Polk RTi70 mains, CSi40 center, RTi38 surrounds, RTi28 rears and heights
SVS 20-39CS+ subwoofer powered by Crown XLS1500
Oppo BDP-93 Blu-ray player
DarbeeVision DVP5000 video processor
Epson 8500UB 1080p projector

Since he wants something that's future proof I'd wait to look at the 4313 coming out.

Pioneer SC57 will do 9.1, just add a splitter for dual subs. I think a good 7.2 setup will suffice these days.Shoot the jumper.....................BALLIN.............!!!!!

It already has dual sub outs. -
Yamaha doesn't do Dolby PLIIz. The two extra channels are not for height, per se, but rather what Yamaha calls "presence." I like it a lot, but my guess is it's not for everybody. They also have a feature that's very useful to me called Dialog Lift, which helps bring the dialog up to the center of my screen (all my main speakers are below my screen). The only down side to my model, is that it's either the back speakers OR the presence speakers, but not both at the same time. I think the one you're considering can run all 9. Check it out first, though.
Btw, the AVENTAGE series is nice! I was a Yamaha fan before, but was losing interest until they came out with this line - noticeably better, IMO.
If I had the $$ right now, I'd be upgrading to the RX-A3010... -
The big rave in the industry for preamps is the Integra DHC 80.3. We have one on our showroom if you want to check it out Phil. It's a beast. We have it paired with a Integra amp right now but I'd like to hear it on a Bryston or NAD amp.
I plan on doing a full Pro calibration on it once we get our pro kit in. I so want to play with the pro kit. When It comes in I'll give you a shout.Dan
My personal quest is to save to world of bad audio, one thread at a time. -

Yeah Dan, that Integra looks like a very nice piece indeed. I'll have to do some reading on it. How involved does the pro kit get? I'd imagine someone trained & licensed would have to come out to the house to do the calibration. I'll wait to hear back from you after you did a pro calibration to see & hear if it's worth the extra expense."2 Channel & 11.2 HT "Two Channel:Magnepan LRSSchiit Audio Freya S - SS preConsonance Ref 50 - Tube preParasound HALO A21+ 2 channel ampBluesound NODE 2i streameriFi NEO iDSD DAC Oppo BDP-93KEF KC62 sub Home Theater:Full blown 11.2 set up. -
The Pro kit is not needed. It just further tweaks your system. You could buy the kit yourself for about $500 and the lincense cost $150. The integra works fine without it though.

this is out of my league...and possibly my sport... but. I will say that the Elite 57 is a nice model. I have been running mine for a few weeks on the internal amps. Sounds pretty good.

I'll second the 4311ci. The price is reasonable and it packs a lot of processing power. I've been a proud Denon owner for many years and found them to fit well with my Polk speakers.
It looks like the Denon 4313 will be replacing both the 4311 and the 4811, so it ain't gonna be under $2500.My Home Theater:
