New AVR time

Well, looks like I'll be needing a new AVR. Bad timing as my CDP is in for repairs right now too.....only because it's a $1500 CDP. The VSX21TXH is pretty much disposable considering I paid $350 for it and it would cost more than that to repair + ship 2 ways. Question....is there any AVR these days that isn't prone to HDMI problems? From research HK and Onkyo have been having them, and not sure I trust Pioneer anymore either. Don't want a Yamaha. I haven't tried Denon yet. About all I'm willing to pay for an AVR is $500 used considering how freakin' crappy they seem to be making them and how fast they go obsolete.

Good luck. I've never had a problem with Pioneer. By the way nice TV. I own the same one.

Can anyone explain how the ethernet port works on the HK's for streaming music? Can it replace my Squeezebox's function for streaming from my PC?

so if I'm reading that correctly, I can stream music off of my HD by connecting it to my router? You'd think the manual would describe that in detail.

OK...I am considering something like the Denon AVR-2112CI. It's also got the ethernet connection.

I had the Denon 3311ci before and it's pretty easy to use. Good interface and a search function if you're browsing a media server, etc. It'll probably be able to connect to your Logitech media server library as well. I think that ability has been there since Squeezebox Server became Logitech Media Server, so I never got to try it with the Denon. But my Pioneer can connect to it as well as TVersity without any issues.

What's your issue with Yamaha? The few pro reviews I've read about the RX-A series have been great.

Up your budget and get a Integra DTR30.3 new. It's under a grand and a solid performer with no issues.

I love my Denon, just wish it was 3D compatible. I found a workaround though.... I have never had a single problem related to HDMI or anything for that matter with my Denon.
