Mirage M-5si. Classic Mirages from the M-Xsi line from before Mirage was bought out. Made in Canada. This pair is in truly remarkable condition for a speaker this age (made in 1995'ish).
Not a single pull or tear in the cloth. The piano black tops don't even have swirl marks from dusting.
Included are the original shipping cartons, all interior packing material, printed owner's manual, and printed sales brochure.
Here's a stereophile review on their little brothers, the M-7si's:
http://www.stereophile.com/floorloudspeakers/295mirage/index.html
These have a symmetrically bipolar design, unlike the 7's in the review above. The 5's use a forward firing tweeter, a rearward firing tweeter, a forward firing mid/bass driver, and a rearward firing mid/bass driver. These 5's are superior to the 7's in the review above in every way. I should know, I've owned the 7's, and I A/B'd them with these 5's many times. 5's win every time. The 5's are somehwhat of a forgotten speaker, as people either cheaped out and bought the 7's, or they went big with the 3's or 1's. The 5's are a much more managable size than the 3's or 1's.
Enough talk. They work perfectly and look new.
They retailed for about $1700. They are currently listed on craigslist for 600, but I'll let those shmucks talk me down to 550.
polkie price is 500 even.
No shipping at this time. Pickup in Northern VA.

Ok, shipping via FedEx Ground will be $150. Not too bad, given the size and weight.
These shipping cartons are better than most I've seen. The interior foam inserts are really good and thick, and I have a high level of confidence that they will make a cross-country trip without issue. :biggrin:2-Channel: PC > Schiit Eitr > Audio Research DAC-8 > Audio Research LS-26 > Pass Labs X-250.5 > Magnepan 3.7's

I've listened to these speakers many times , one of my favorite Mirage speakers of all time. Mirage made fantastic speakers back in the day , I actually miss them. For the kind of money he's asking , you would get a truly Audiophile great.
Wish I had room for them or they would be mine. Good luck with the sale man , I can't see these sticking around long. Must have been very nice to have owned them.Dan
My personal quest is to save to world of bad audio, one thread at a time. -
Dear God man, those puppies look showroom new. For a nickel ?? Where's those guys that say we don't have deals in our FM.
Someone needs to jump on these.....though I dunno if I'd trust FEDEX with shipping. Bax Global would be my choice if they are out by you. Hot damn....a nickel ??HT SYSTEM-

There's this guy on craigslist who wants these speakers, but I can tell he's kind of a ****. I have to post a small note.
I heard a pair of this very model of Mirage about a year ago when I was looking to buy a Velodyne 10" sub. Being powered by a NAD AVR and CDP, I really enjoyed the demo I got. I loved them much more than my Bose I had at the time. Since they were so old I figured I would never find a pair like that but I did research the Mirage name after that for a short time.
Anyways the whole point is I found these to be very nice sounding. And I genuinely mean that. The design of them are very neat and when properly placed with some great gear and a small powered sub, you get a wonderful 2 channel setup! I really did enjoy their sound.
