Popped up over in the James Gang thread. Their ...Rides Again LP was the first I owned that proclaimed it was "Made to be played loud." It was printed right on the record jacket.
Ditto for David Bowie's Ziggy Stardust and The Spiders from Mars... another that sprang to mind.
There have to be others...

It was etched in the dead wax, also, at least on my brother's copy of the album. -
On the back of Rush's first album, "For best results play at maximum volume".Stan

Marillion's "Brave" CD says "play it loud with the lights off". I'll add play it in November as well. Excellent CD. Nicely recorded as well.

Taken from a recent Audioholics reply regarding "Club Polk" and Polk speakers:
"I'm yet to hear a Polk speaker that merits more than a sentence and 60 seconds discussion."
My response is: If you need 60 seconds to respond in one sentence, you probably should't be evaluating Polk speakers.....

The J Geils Band "Blow You Face Out" live album had on the cover "Made Loud To Play Load" on the back cover.Oh, you hate your job? Why didn't you say so? There's a support
group for that. It's called EVERYBODY, and they meet at the bar.

My DVD Collection -
I've got a Sabbath LP, The Best of, on some obscure label that's marked "Play this album extra loud" or something like that.

How bout an album that warns you that you will smoke your system if you don't have quality speakers and amps that can handle the load? Telarc's vinyl 1812 Overture carries this warning, and they mean it too. The cannon shots have spelled the demise of many a pair of speakers. My ALS Platinums handle it fine as far as the drivers go, but I did cook a cap playing that album.

I think I have that Telarc 1812 Overture LP somewhere, If I still have it,, it has not been played in at least 20 years.
OK I do have it;
Tchaikovsky: 1812 Overture Erich Kunzel & Cincinnati Pops Orchestra (1978)
I also have the CD re-release in 2001, which is still avialable on CD, and MP3 form from Amazon.
and for purchase from iTunes.
There is a whole series of these Erich Kunzel & Cincinnati Pop Orchestra I have most of them and they are all excellent!!!Radio Station W7ITC -
I don't know if it's printed on the cover but it should be "Golden Earring Live" all four sides. At least loud enough for someone to call the cops.“The two most important days in your life are the day you are born and the day you find out why.” ~ Mark Twain

It's been a LONG time, but IIRC, Twisted Sister - Come Out and Play album had the words "Play It Loud, ****!" printed on the record sleeve.
LOL, I haven't listened to that album in many years, now I hafta try and find it...So, are you willing to put forth a little effort or are you happy sitting in your skeptical poo pile?
