Well it is that time of year and our tax person went way up on the fee they charge to prepare taxes. Does anyone use H&R to prepare their taxes? If so please comment on how the experience went.

We use them every year and think the price is a bit much but they do a good job and we get our return fast.

Honestly I have no issues with them.

Many people can use the free e-file option. It don't get much better than that.

I agree with Dan, they seem high, but are fast and get my money quick. I'm going to try and do my own again next year...

My wife and I use them because we have confusing taxes - own a rental house in NJ, live in PA, renting at the time, jobs in two states, etc. We've been pleased wtih them - i believe the fee is around 100 bucks or so, which can be pricey, but much better than us **** it all up :)

I use turbo tax free addition. Have mine and my wife's businesses to roll into the mix. Bigger refunds than H&R block. Their "free" tax services at the B&M offices are a joke. Everyone I know who has tried to use the free preparation was denied, and they all make under 17,000 a year. If you want your money now you pay more. You also have to be careful with that. A lady I worked with did there fast refund, got a card the same day and spent her return in a couple of days. After about a month she got a letter from the Irs saying she owed them $3000. Yeah, I will never use them. YMMV

Used them for years with no major issues. Switched to turbo tax about five years ago and never looked back.

We've used them for the past six years. The lady who runs the branch does ours. We just make the appt with her every year and we have been extremely happy. Fee seems a little high, but she seems to take advantage of any tax break we can get.

I think it's not as much about H & R Block, but about what person you actually get there.

I used them in my younger years, but found by going to a regular accountant, I received more money back, or payed less over H&R Block.

No, I go to a church called Advent and get it done for free... they have done mine since 04 no problems and I get my returns back fast direct deposit. I have done my own before though, years ago.

To clarify, I use the H&R Block home program and do my own taxes. I do my taxes while listening to some great tunes.

Nope. Been doing my taxes since I was 17. I had a friend who is Accountant check my taxes when they were more complicated than today and he indicated that I was doing just as good a job if not better than the companies that prepare taxes. More $ in my pocket.

I do the same. It costs me about 50 bucks and 45 minutes of my time.
