I'm probably going to buy this Blue Ray Player as It have great reviews and played just about every kind of disk out there,
as I was going to buy a SACD player and this does it all.
So does anyone else own or have a chance to listen to this BP?
I own the 650C CD and I'm thinking that this baby is just as good but living in the frozen north I don't have anywhere I can demo it.
Thanks Roger

I have a used oppo bdp83 that I think sounds very sweet. I also have a Cambridge dacmagic. I don't know if the dacmagic and the 751 you're considering use the same internal dac, but I will say that the dac in the oppo sounds better to me than the well regarded dacmagic, which sounds "thin" by comparison.

For the price I'd get the Oppo.

I will check into the oppo guys; And sorry about the wrong title it should have been held wanted not review.

I have the Oppo BD-93 and it is great for BR. I never use it for music. However, I am using Cambridge-Audio gear in my two-channel system, and love it. If I were buying a new BR player for movies and music I would have no problem buying the 751.
The big problem I have with the 751 versus the Oppo BD-95 (music enhanced version) is that the 751 does not have balanced outputs.Lumin X1 file player, Westminster Labs interconnect cable
Sony XA-5400ES SACD; Pass XP-22 pre; X600.5 amps
Magico S5 MKII Mcast Rose speakers; SPOD spikes
Shunyata Triton v3/Typhon QR on source, Denali 2000 (2) on amps
Shunyata Sigma XLR analog ICs, Sigma speaker cables
Shunyata Sigma HC (2), Sigma Analog, Sigma Digital, Z Anaconda (3) power cables
Mapleshade Samson V.3 four shelf solid maple rack, Micropoint brass footers
Three 20 amp circuits. -
I have Installed the 751bd and it's flat out fantastic.I used the 6 channel out and found the performance to be stellar.
As a Blu ray player it's incredibly fast and plays everything you put in the tray.
It's only down fall is no Balanced outs but if you don't have em or use them this is a non issue. The Oppo only has 2 channel out over balanced so SACD , DVD AUDIO and Blu ray movies(DVD 2) are still RCA unbalanced.
Oppo has more streaming abilities , Cambridge puts their money into build quality. For the money it's worth every cent. Both the Oppo and Cambridge are worthy players of just about any theater / music system.Dan
My personal quest is to save to world of bad audio, one thread at a time. -
Thanks for the replies; I don’t know much about balanced outputs so I will have to do some reading on that subject.

Well I've done some reading on balanced-unbalanced outputs and it seems as stated it is a non-issue for me as I don't use then and probably won't for a while but Maybe down the road as I continue this rather expensive journey.
So I'm going with the Oppo-95 (order)over the 751 Both are close in price and reviews.
But I decided to try this brand as a lot of folks on this forum has a Oppo and rave about then.
Thanks for the comments.
Cheers Roger
