REL sub connections

REL has a unique sub connection (the name escapes me right now) which for 2-channel, connects directly to the amp. Can this same connection be utilized by HT vs. the LFE input on the sub.....I am assuming using both the 'unique' input (Speakon) for 2 channel and the LFE input at the same time may not be possible. Anyone have experience dual utilizing these subs? thx...

I think I tried both back when I just got my Storm III back in 2002 and thought it was good. Since then, I only used Speakon Neutrik exclusively to supplement LSi15.

Give it a try on both...
I am sorry, I have no opinion on the matter. I am sure you do. So, don't mind me, I just want to talk audio and pie.

You can use both if the sub is in a H/T system.

Good deal.....thanks. I think I am going to put my DSW PRO 600 up for sale and try to PU one of the 8 or 10" driver RELs. (Room is on the small size).

Rel's connection is the Speakon Neutrik and basically looked like a balanced connection with 3 speaker wires on the other side which goes to the amp. You get left and right positive and a common ground , pick which side for ground left or right it doesn't matter.
On the subs back panel you will find setting for crossover points for the Neutrik connection. This must be set to blend in your main channel speakers. Look up the spec's of your main speakers or fronts as called by some and set the Rel's crossover just above the lowest hz your speakers can play. I usually go 10 to 20 above in hz so. This usually yields best results.

Next up is LFE for home theater. This is the 2nd part of the amps preamp section. It has 2 for both to play at the same exact time. Very unique to Rel which is one of my very favorite music ONLY subs. I don't care much for them for home theater as I always felt they lack a bit for huge explosions and excitement. They are so damn smooth and musical they disappear into the room but lack that punch required for theater. It can be used but I grew up on Velodyne and they are extremely fast tight loud and musical all in one breath. So Run LFE to the sub from your receivers LFE out and set the crossover point to open on the Rel so the receiver can do the cross over point. Set that to 80hz and don't look back. Calibrate your levels with the receiver. Set the del close to level so you can stay as close to 0db on the LFE out @ 75db. This will give the sub plenty of head room and give you some nice theater bass.

I've been trained by Rel to calibrate their subs some time ago. I loved calibrating them as they are very fun to do.
    Good luck hope this helps.

I paid $399 for the T3 from Vanns. I love mine. Pairs nicely with my Lsi7s. Wish I had waited but, frankly, for my room the T3 is fine. Of course more power is always better.

This was a lot of help with my REL T3, thanks guys....Now I'm still confused with what to do with my Micro-pro 2000 hook-up. For ht, the LFE in is pretty straight forward however for augmenting 2 channel I'm stumped. The 4 RCA's, in/out, what to do with them. I have read the manual forward and backwards but I still don't get it.
