Polk Rti 10 issue

I have a pair of Polk Rti10 speakers that I've been using for about 4 years. I noticed a few months ago that one speaker seemed a bit louder and brighter than the other, particularly the sound coming from the tweeter and mid driver. I was having issues with the old Onkyo receiver I was using and figured that was the problem. I recently purchased a Pioneer VSX-1021 receiver, (which I am very pleased with) but noticed that the sound issue between speakers still exists. I checked the speaker wires to make sure nothing was crossed or hooked up incorrectly. I also switched the speakers cable inputs on my received for these speakers and found that the issue still existed with the one Rti10 still sounding louder and brighter than the other. I'm not sure what the problem is and am assuming that none of the drivers are blown since I still hear clean sound from each. I love these speakers but have to admit to being a novice when it comes to troubleshooting this problem. Any help or direction would be appreciated. Thx.

Hello,
Thanks for posting on Polk's forum. Probably the first thing to do is swap the two speakers, move the left speaker to where the right speaker is and bring the right speaker to where the left was. Reconnect the speaker wires and see if the difference remains in the same channel or now has moved so the same speaker sounds different. This will tell you if you have a speaker issue or if it is related to another cause, such as room placement, etc.
