More info please. What gear are you using including cables and source? Are the tweeters the original SL2000's? What is your room like? For example, carpeted, hardwood, tile.Political Correctness'.........defined

SD-2B is push by Hafler XL600, Hafler Iris Pre-Amp, Dual 1229Q TT, Monster Interconnect Speaker Wires, made my own IC's out of monster cable and flatten out a gold quest pin. Yes they are the original tweeters. Was going to do the polyswitch extraction, but decided to ask for advice and help from you folks 1st.

Ok, the SL2000 tweeters have a 5dB spike at 12-13kHz, so they tend to sound bright. Replacing them with the RD0194-1 will tame that down. However, you might want to consider the TL upgrade to your speakers, which results in a marked improvement to the overall sound. To do that requires using the RD0198-1 tweeters and adding a 5.8uF cap to the crossovers. There are many threads here about that upgrade.
I would also suggest replacing the Monster cable stuff, all of it.
Removing the polyswitch will not tame down the high end, in fact, just the opposite.Political Correctness'.........defined
