Yeah, pretty cool. Huge influence on the Beatles. -
I find both the musical and recording quality of her albums to be wildly inconsistent

Do you mean from track to track or album to album?

Both

Disagree. Every CD I have sounds awsome. Maybe she doesn't sound good on PSBs

My personal quest is to save to world of bad audio, one thread at a time. -

Her last album is recorded very poorly in that there is 0 dynamic range. If you think it sounds awesome, probably should have your ears checked. It's on my worst list of audio recordings of all time. I like the material, mostly, but the recording is horrid.
H9"Appreciation of audio is a completely subjective human experience. Measurements can provide a measure of insight, but are no substitute for human judgment. Why are we looking to reduce a subjective experience to objective criteria anyway? The subtleties of music and audio reproduction are for those who appreciate it. Differentiation by numbers is for those who do not".--Nelson Pass Pass Labs XA25 | EE Avant Pre | EE Mini Max Supreme DAC | MIT Shotgun S1 | Pangea AC14SE MKII | Legend L600 | BlueSound Node 3 - Tubes add soul! -
Is this her "New Wave" album? The cover is, to me, eerily reminiscent of Linda Ronstadt's foray (such as it was) into the New Wave... Mad Love

The short 'do works better on Norah than it did on Linda...I was rather surprised to find out her dad is Ravi Shankar. -
I agree... her last CD was horrible, no dynamics, the recording was so dead sounding. All her CDs were getting progressively worse.

I think think the SQ of her first two CD's is quite good. Haven't heard her third, as the 2nd one sounded a little too much like the first. Thought she might be running out of musical ideas, so I didn't buy it.
I knew her dad is Ravi Shankar, but who is her Mom?"Science is suppose to explain observations not dismiss them as impossible" - Norm on AA; 2.3TL's w/sonicaps/mills/jantzen inductors, Gimpod's boards, Lg Solen SDA inductors, RD-0198's, MW's dynamatted, Armaflex speaker gaskets, H-nuts, brass spikes, Cardas CCGR BP's, upgraded IC Cable, Black Hole Damping Sheet strips, interior of cabinets sealed with Loctite Power Grab, AI-1 interface with 1000VA A-L transformer -
I don't have her last album. thanks for the heads up though.
