Obviously you're under 45 because doing that to your knees can only be bad for what awaits you when "aging" gets its teeth in you. Knees are one of the first things to go. Even if you just played H.S. football, and jogged through your 40s. I can't imagine what the physical forces at these speeds are doing to one of the most fragile parts of ones body?

    Looks like fun though!

I love it! There's a science involved and it's not what it may look like.

The knee is first a "lean angle gage" and second, if necessary, an out-rigger.

If you look closely, you'll see plastic or nylon disc's that are secured to the leather with unbelievably strong Velcro, believe me, you need a special tool to remove "some" of the disc's, Exalted could most likely back me on this.

The knee is just skimming the pavement, it feels no different than if I were to gently place my elbow against the wall.

Now if the front wheel suddenly turns into the direction of the turn, you have fallen over  The science behind saving a front end tuck; there are many gyroscopic effects that are all in sync with each other from the rotation of the wheels to the internal engine parts.

If you don't do anything to change the effect i.e. roll off the throttle or accelerate or apply either brake, then "theoretically", the bike will slide in a straight line, giving you a narrow window of opportunity to turn the bars back into a counter steer direction and leverage the bike back up with your downside knee.

In 20+ years of racing and practice, I've saved two handfuls of front end tucks. The very first save was sheer accident. I could tell you some stories.

The only stress on the knees are from doing deep tissue squats moving your weight from one side to the other for different turns.

I was 46 years old in these two pictures racing a Suz 1000 and remained in the top 10. I raced until I was 48 but stopped getting free bikes and product due to the economy crash.

I'm currently 51 and hoping to get back in the game.

Well, after some research, I have concluded that I just can't afford to dedicate a 2ch rig.

Most people here can relate to wanting to have the best, or at least, the best of what their money can buy.

If you want just audio, why use something for Audio/Video?

HT cables are good for movies, but if you want some pristine audio cables, that turns into a completely different (and way more $$$) animal altogether.

Pre-amps, tube amps, transports, IC's.........the list goes on.

A compromise in this area for my bank account. One day, perhaps, when my ship sails in, I'll hop aboard and set up the finest 2ch rig then.

Thanks for the replies and recommendations.

Hey there biker boy, don't give up so easily. Fourty years ago there was Stereo...actually I believe it became commercially available to the public via whatever wallmart was at the time sometime in the mid fifties. Look vintage and I like craigslist best cause you can go and have a listen. A pair of Infinity RS-7, CS-99 by Pioneer (yes, they made mighty fine speakers) some mid line Klipsch. You can get into this stuff for a hundred bucks. A little Yamaha CA1010 intregrated amp, I think I misspelled the word before amp, or some of the old Kenwoods or Sony models. I have a CA1010, paid about a hundred bucks, I believe it has 110 real watts per side and it will run in pure class a up to around 15 watts and is a beast at around fourty-four pounds. Now you need a source, a Denon 2910 CD gets good marks and cost a buck fifty or just run your I-pad into it, I have and it sounds ...ok. So now you have three hundred fifty bucks into it and all you need are some of those $thirty seven thousand dollar MIT speaker cables and there you go.

Hard to conceive of a Yamaha CA-1010 integrated amp as "little"... it is a very nice piece of hardware... featuring switchable class A operation of the outputs - inefficient as heck but very nice sounding for soiled state.

Hot Rod Biker...go here and look around for your 2 channel rig. It's very nice stuff with knobs, dials and buttons, lots of them. These old guys are a real tactile experience and of course, no remote controls...and you get to polish your wood case once in a while.

I'm enjoying my own compromise with a modern avr that can switch to 2 channel when I want. For my bedroom I have some sweet speakers, and a marantz that I picked up for $100. I added some tubes I picked up cheap but if I were you I would get vintage, vintage, vintage and go from there. Don't worry about cables for now just get some good audio cable with lots of copper. They do make a difference but it's negligible until you spend your kids college money on gear. $100 for a vintage amp with a heavy heat sink, good vintage speakers around $200-$500, and at least mOnster or blue jean quality cables and you are in business with the start of your system. Check Craigslist locally for audiophile gear. People get rid of extremely great gear you just have to be patient. Be prepared to fix up old speakers but that is cheap. Get a quality external amp on your second run on upgrades later, that's between $300-$500 for a good used high current amp.
Spikes are cheap, most of the other tweaks are cheap. For about $1000 or less and some patience and research along with advice here before you pull triggers, you will be a happy man. I'm partial to sda, but each speaker line has its own unique properties to match your tastes. Vintage Polks, jbl, kef, magnepans, klipsch and many others are good speakers to look for but do your homework. Don't get Bose, and you should be fine. Bose IMHO gives a good enough sound but really is not made for real 2 channel listening. It's like the difference between graduating high school or getting a GED (no offence to anyone here just my opinion. It's more for parties and dorm rooms. Google speaker recommendations here on the Forum.

Have patience and try things out used as DSkip mentions. When I got into audio and Polk I never thought I would have the funds to own an LSi speaker. Now I have a 5 channel LSi HT rig and just bought LSi7's from Polk's Ebay store for a computer rig. The 5 channel system is mainly used for 2 channel music listening. I also have Atrium 5's in the kitchen and I'm putting Atrium 4's under a pergola this summer. I have also had or still have RTi6's, FXi3's, CSi5, R50's, and TSi100's. I have sold most of what I don't use and recently gave the R50's to a coworker to try out some Polks. He loves them and is looking to get a full HT setup now.

Slowly I have been buying and upgrading speakers and components as funds become available, and it's only been 5 years since I started. Still not finished trying out stuff in the ever crusade to find out what this audio stuff is about.

Lol, I guess the nick name is better than Jonny road race, or squid boy.

Yeah I noticed this thread fired back up, kinda caught me by surprise.

I've been searching out the LSi series, I saw the vs threads between the 15's and 25's and someone has recommended the LSi9's over the two larger LSi's.

My plan is to have no sub and was considering either the 15's or 25's.

Anyone have any input over the 9, 15 or 25 for 2ch no sub?
