Crappy Rocketfish cables.

A few months ago when I got my first surround receiver, I had to unplug my HDMI cable from my TV. When I pulled on it, the connector separated. A few weeks ago I had to pull my Blu Ray player out and turn it sideways and my connector separated. Both were Rocketfish 6 foot cables. I've been into HI-Fi since 1975 and I've never lost a cable of any kind before. Anybody else have this problem? Also, since I need cables, are the Monoprice cables good? I know it sounds dumb, but I want a green one and a purple one. What the heck. Thanks!

Maybe you should invest in some quality cables instead of the budget stuff......just saying.

I got rock solid HDMI cables from Amazon with ferrite whatevers for 4 or 5 bucks that does bluray on a 1080p plasma just as well as the $80 one that I returned. I don't even like the name "Rocketfish" and as such, would have never bought them on that basis alone ! I think the ones linked below are the ones I got....

Can't wait for the "I'm not spending 1000 bucks on a cable" crowd to chime in. According to them, it's either 10 bucks or 1000 bucks, nothing inbetween.
I did have to laugh at the "I want a green and purple one". LOL !!

Camp buddy, thanks for the late night laugh. Seriously though, Signal cable is a good place to get a cable when your starting out. Tell Frank over there your a member here and he just might toss you a discount.

How is that any different than those who make or buy cables with Techflex on them? I get a laugh out of those too.

Thanks for the replies. A couple of guys helped and a couple ripped me for buying cheap cables, just about the ratio I expected. I bought those cables many years ago before Blu Ray was catching on and I had a DVD player with HDMI output. I've learned a lot since then.

I was referring to Monoprice, not Rocketfish.

I have had great luck with Media Bridge Ultra HDMI cables.

I use MIT cables exclusively for audio applications.
