Class D amp with LSi9
I'm tempting to add an external amp to power my LSi9 and LSiC. Anyone has any experience with how the Rotel class D amp hooked up with the LSi 9 ? Thanks.

I've tried the W4S ST-1000 with both LSi15 & LSiM707. It's Class D & it's powering those speakers quite excellently.Gears shared to both living room & bedroom:

Is it because it's a Rotel, or because it's a Class D?Up

I've been keeping an eye out for reviews for the NAD C 3900D. I think it would be a nice solution for a second 2 channel set-up. But there is only one review so far that I have found.
Here is the product page:
http://nadelectronics.com/products/hifi-amplifiers/C-390DD-Direct-Digital-Powered-DAC-Amplifier
It uses the same Class D amplification that was first used in the M2, which got great reviews from those who could aford it : ). I have not had the opportunity to listen to the M2, so I'm afraid I cannot give you any more info other than what is on the web. -
When you think about the pace of digital technology, I often wonder: in 10 or 15 years will class D amps be the absolute go to for complete neutral sound and besting even class A amps for S/N ratio?

Dave: Its certainly interesting. I bought the Panny XR-57 a few years back just for S&G after snobbery pushed the price down to $235. Not the most musical receiver, but for HT (and as a lightweight portable unit), that puppy rocked. Still use it for road trips, roof parties, etc.
At that time, many were hoping that someone would take things to the next level and make a receiver that amplified digitally in PCM with more power and 4 ohm stability. Now Rotel, NAD and others doing just that. Its good to see, I think Class D received a bad rap from the audiophile community without real objectivity. The next few years will be very interesting. -

That's always the case whenever something new is introduced in audio.
Rotel has always been known for their musical gear. I wasn't impressed with their first 100wpc digital amp, but the the 250wpc got the job done and was just fine. And being considerably lighter is definately a bonus.
If I could, I would have an all Rotel gear rack.Marantz AV-7705 PrePro, Classé 5 channel 200wpc Amp, Oppo 103 BluRay, Rotel RCD-1072 CDP, Sony XBR-49X800E TV, Polk S60 Main Speakers, Polk ES30 Center Channel, Polk S15 Surround Speakers SVS SB12-NSD x2 -
