Ok. The burlap came in last night and I was going to wait till the weekend to cover the traps but I could not. No way could I let it go that long with product in the house. Anyways here is the finished product. The burlap was #10 and little hard to get the corners right but I managed. I think they turned out pretty good for the 1st time out. Completed 4 of them and will probably build some smaller squares for accent this weekend. Unless I buy the wood today!

    Thanks guys.

So far the listening results are favorable. I notice tighter bass (probably due to the traps) and more definition in the highs. Regarding the highs I am probably able to hear things now that I was not able to hear because I am trapping the bass frequencies bouncing from wall to wall.

All preliminary. I have a few more to build and place around as some of these are just sitting on the floor. I have been using chairs to get them off the floor in places.

I tell you it is really making a difference and I am happy that I finally woke up and did this. What a great hobby we all have to enjoy.

I have a large room and at one time thought I didn't need acoustic treatments. I was wrong. I have added subs to speakers that really didn't need them and actually made the bass problem worse. I've been in small listening rooms that had no or poor bass...oh here it is, outside the room in the hallway. I don't think they wear out either which adds to them being one the best audio investments you can make. Njoy!

One of the biggest surprises was the improvement of the bass! I have a very small room and was more focused on the traps bringing out the highs. They have helped in all aspects of sound.

I finally have gotten all the bass traps/treatments on the wall where I think they sound best. I ended up placing them in the following locations:
    1. One behind each speaker.
    2. Found my 1st reflection points by using the mirror method. Installed one at each reflection point.
    3. Trapped the French Doors in my room. One on each door, 2 traps total.
    4. One directly above my listening position.
    5. One in the corner to the right of my listening position.

I am very happy with the treatments and the effects it had upon my listening area. I have no sound equipment to test with but after a month of moving them around and listening these locations best suited my ear. It would be the 1st thing I would do if I were creating a listening room instead of the last! By treating the room 1st one can really see where they are at with their gear. I wasted a lot of time tweaking my gear and worrying over some frequencies that were not sounding good when I could have just hung these to begin with. So I would recommend starting with treatments 1st then tweak the gear.

Glad to hear it, PreCd. Acoustics are usually the last thing people think about, but it should be the first...
