Questions about Pioneer Elite SC-55/57

Well... I got a good price from a friend on the Elites. Only thing is... the 57 is out of stock. I can get the 55 right now. My questions are...

1. What is the difference between the 2......I saw a few more DSP and multi-zone options on the 57, but that was all I saw on a (decent) perusal of the specs on the Pioneer site.

2. I read on an Amazon comment that these were different amps......The previous models(SC-37) were class D ICE amps based on a Bang & Olfsund (sp?) design. These new amps they call D3(cubed). No mention of ICE on the website. (I'm not really that concerned with the internal amps as my system is mostly separates anyway..)

3. I also read that Pioneer does not honor the warranty on any Elite not bought from an authorized dealer. (not that worried about this, unless it comes out of the box DOA...really think about that for a minute. They won't back a NEW item if it wasn't purchased from someone they approve of. I don't need another $1000 paperweight.)

Well.... those are my questions, hopefully one of you Polkies can give me some answers.

Any thoughts always appreciated....

They are basically the same receiver , the 57 has more processing , better DAC's and a few connections from what I recall. No shame going 55 if the features are what you need for your setup.
They both now have new ICE amps made by Pioneer now. Suppose to be a better shorter path for signal travel , I tested the SC-57 vs the SC-07 and sound quality wise I couldn't really tell any difference better or worse.

NEVER buy from a unauthorized dealer EVER!!!! Your warranty basically just throw it in the trash. If your unit breaks , you will pay for repairs even if it's broken day one. Not worth it.
