So I have a peavey irp3000 amp power my subs run off an xlr cable from my integra 9.8 pre amp. Problem is the sub is humming like crazy. I've tried to lift the ground on the amp and the pre amp... No change. If I mute the avr it stopes or if stop my DVR it shuts up. But the problem is on my other impute to so I don't think the DVR is to blam. Any ideas?
If life had more tubes it would be a lot smoother.

disconnect your cable TV cable and see if it goes away, if so you need a ground loop isolator

Monarchy Audio SE100 Delux - mono power amps
Sony DVP-NS999ES - SACD player
ADS 1230 - Polk SDA 2B
DIY Stereo Subwoofer towers w/(4) 12 drivers each
Crown K1 - Subwoofer amp
Outlaw ICBM - crossover
Beringher BFD - sub eq
Where is the remote? Where is the $%#$% remote!

Have you tried running your audio from the Satbox via toslink? Power conditoners don't always break ground loops.Source: Bluesound Node 2i - Preamp/DAC: Benchmark DAC2 DX - Amp: Parasound Halo A21 - Speakers: MartinLogan Motion 60XTi - Shop Rig: Yamaha A-S501 Integrated - Shop Spkrs: Elac Debut 2.0 B5.2

An optical cable provides isolation, that may work, or you can look into using a ground loop isolator but try the optical cable first. Also, make sure all devices are on the same circuit or same split-phase of your breaker panel.polkaudio RT35 Bookshelves
