Got the new cables in, did some tweaking and found the RTi70s really like a 60Hz crossover better than 50Hz, then found that now that the load of the mains and center are off my receiver, my 6 surrounds like a 70Hz crossover just fine.

    1) Blue Jeans Cables are fantastic. Could not believe how well made they are, and I love the locking banana plugs! Took me all of 5 minutes to swap cables out and lock everything down.

    2) There was a very slight improvement just in swapping the cabling, but mostly only in mid-bass. This could have been attributed to me wiring them to the lower posts on the speakers, however, whereas my previous cables were screwed into the top posts. I prefer it this way regardless.

    3) Had some friends over to watch Tron: Legacy on Blu-ray. Man... it's amazing the improvement you get not only from having better power to the mains and center, but also from having more power to the surrounds and a little less bass redirected to the subwoofer. The bass in that movie was SLAMMING, but was totally clean throughout. Fantastic sound! I was worried that this was gonna be one of those upgrades that only I would notice, but my guests said it sounded way better.

Okay, that's the last time I gush over this thing. Gonna re-run Audyssey if I can ever find a time when my house can be quiet, but other than that, I'm freakin' ecstatic with the Adcom. Thanks for all your motivation through jealousy via seeing your systems!

Wait... I have one more related question. The Adcom runs pretty warm even when not in use, so I'd prefer to shut it down when the rest of my system is off. However, the switch on the front is pretty stiff, and I'd rather not wear it out from regular use (whereas my Samson 1000 has been on 24/7 for 5+ years now, but it consumes very little when idle so I don't worry about it). What's the best option to have these power up on their own when I turn everything on with my Harmony 880?

To the OP: for your outlet problem, this Belkin power console is pretty nice:
    http://www.amazon.com/Belkin-AP41300fc10-PureAV-Theater-Console/dp/B001541R5W

I picked one up on Amazon last week for $125. Unfortunately they?ve already gone back off of sale, but if you keep an eye on one I?m sure it will come back down.

Can you set the two AMP outlets on that to switched with one of the other outlets as a master? If so, that would do the trick for me. Hard to tell if it's possible to run it that way from the description, but looks promising.

Think infrastructure first. If you're out of power and plug-in then consider another dedicated 20 amp (12 gauge) circuit. When I recently added an additional 5 channel amplifier I first bit the bullet and ran in some new power, just for the new amp.

Yeah... I've spent more than I should have already, and I'm not dimming the lights or anything, so I'm not looking to hire an electrician just yet. Just need something to kick the amps on when the receiver kicks on. My projector's on a separate circuit, so all that's on the living room circuit is the AVR, Blu-ray player, the two amps, an Xbox 360 and a cable box. I wouldn't think that's too much for 20amp service. The issue behind where my equipment is was mostly a lack of outlets, but a power center that will kick my amps on would solve that too.

Champagne on a malt liquor budget here, man. Work with me.

(Okay, when I added up the power draw for all of this stuff, maybe I'm pushing it on a 20amp breaker. Still, with pretty sensitive 8ohm speakers and reasonable listening levels, I don't think I'm maxing it out on a regular basis. I will look into the cost of getting another 20amp drop done later on though.)
