Looks great. Can't wait till I have room to set up my own Monitor 10s?

Love the Hafler stuff. We used to have a guy up here that sold it "exclusively" along with a Hafler line of tower speakers that were pretty sweet sounding on the Hafler Pre-amps and amps! Also used to sell "used" CDs...don't know what happened to him.

    Enjoy!

I had 2 of these eq's but gave one to my oldest son. It was black. May have to try and trade him out of it to better match the color scheme of the Hafler stuff. But then I would need a black tuner and tape deck! Where does it end??

I've always (particularly) liked that little Hafler preamp.

I cannae quite recognize the tt - the color and the big feet thingies remind me of the Technics SL-1650 that my son has.

Nice to see appreciation for Hafler and Polk. My main 2 ch system is a Hafler DH-110 preamp, DH-500 power amp, and SDA-2B speakers.

My backup 2 channel system is a Hafler DH-101 preamp, DH-200 power amp, and RTA-12B speakers.

I've noticed vintage Hafler gear seems to be selling well on the auctions so people must be catching on.

Thinking about updating/upgrading the phono stage on the 101 pre. I have some hum/noise in it. Anybody seen these kits selling on e__y for this and have any thoughts of using these? Or should I ship it to someone to have it done?

See if you can't find a DH-110. I think that's a step-up, and staying within the Hafler framework.

I think I will swap my Carver C-11 and see how I like that setup and see if the hum/noise is gone. I just like to simplicity of the 101.

Swapped the C-11 in place of the 101 and hum is still there. Must be in my turntable
Also, the Hafler sounds much better to me than the Carver. May put it up for sale. Where should I start on the turntable? I put new cables on it and did the ground wire removal mod. New tonearm cable??

Don't panic. Now, why did you remove the ground wire?! The hum is likely either ground loop, insufficient shielding, or induced AC from another source.

Ground loop. That's why they put ground wires on the tts. Do you have any clipleads? Start grounding stuff to stuff (tt to preamp, or power amp, or power amp to preamp). Your goal - eliminate ground loops. Assuming a nonpolarized plug on the tt; try reversing it in the AC power mains socket. You can also try this with any component(s) with nonpolarized plugs. One configuration may reduce or eliminate the hum.

New cables? They're low capacitance, for turntables, yes? Assuming so... good solder connections at the tt?

The other possibility is induced hum from another source; move stuff around - too close proximity to an AC power supply (more to the point, to a transformer or a wall wart) can induce hum - the culprit in this case could be the preamp, rather than the tt.

Hope something in this list helps!

If the table you are using is in the lower left of the picture, it may be too close the speaker, especially if MC cart. Transformers close by can cause hum, also.

Cool man. I dig Hafler stuff. I have a Hafler 500 for my main two channel system now. Two DH-200s for driving subs and an IRIS preamp and tuner with remote.

Did you ever get your hum issue sussed out?

Haven't had the chance to do much. But I have deduced that it is in the turntable itself. I'm wondering about replacing the tonearm wire and then
getting one of those plates from KAB to mount and try using different cables.

So, forgive me if this is a silly question....Do you have both pairs of speakers going at once, or swap back and forth??

Inspector 24, I had this issue before I added the second amp and set of speakers. I tried 2 different pre amps and now have it running through an old Realistic STA 2080 all with tye same results. Talking with Kevin @ KAB now about this issue.
