Hello,
How good does the Oppo 95 sound as a CD player? I thinking of replacing my
Arcam DV-95 with the Oppo 95. How would you describe the sound of the
Oppo 95(Detailed...smooth)? In my system the Arcam is Detailed with a natural
sounding midrange and Fast tight bass.
My 2ch system consist of a Primare Pre-30 pre-amp with Odyssey Mono-blocs.
Thanks

Keep the Arcam or at the very least buy the Oppo and compare.

So many times we chase our tails and get rid of something only to be disappointed with the new one. Sell which ever one doesn't work out. I try very hard not to have to fund a new purchase while selling the old one. Meaning I have both and sell the one that appeals to me less after the fact. Sometimes circumstances don't allow that, but it's the best way unless you stumble upon someone in the exact same shoes as you and they can give solid insight.

My personal quest is to save to world of bad audio, one thread at a time. -

I'm going to do a home audition of the Rega Dac and Hegel HD11 Dac today. I'm unable to do a Home
audition of the Oppo at this time. I'm going to compare the Dacs against each other and the Dac in the Arcam.Linn AV5140 fronts

I love the Oppo 95 it is a fantastic player but so is the Cambridge.. I wish Oppo would put out one hell of a SACD/CD player only..

Another nice feature with the 95 is playing PAL stuff.I can get some things that are out of print or bootlegs in PAL pretty cheap.
It is amazing how many concerts are broadcast on foreign tv that never ever gets done here.
I was just looking for Freebird The Movie last week.$85 for US and 18 bucks for PAL.Main Rig-Realistic AM/FM Record player 8 track boasting 4 WPC
