Does anybody else know any Frank Zappa songs we can all sing?

I'm liking the neologism "doowopy" from post #31...
oh, and Other Mark (as I like to think of dorokusai)... have you ever head Dinah-Moe Humm, Stink Foot, Cosmic Debris or San Ber'dino?
Zappa was (is) a big hero to Vaclav Havel and his cronies in the then-Czechoslovakia.

Zappa was good for comedy albums, real, serious music.....not so much. What's truly comedic is when one deigns to grandly pontificate on the whole subject and catalog of said Zappa! Comedic, comedic!
-
actually he was a very serious composer and he wrote orchestral pieces as well as pop/jazz/funk/doo-wop.
-
I've never heard any of his serious offerings and was unaware of their existance. I'll say, for the masses, he is/was mostly known for foolishness. (not that there is anything less commendable about that.) Later....going to go steal some margarine now.

Agreed!!!!!, this often gets overlooked. On another note he took his music equipment collection quite seriously. He loved him some telefunkens.

I think it was all very serious music to Frank. The key rule was that Frank played and wrote music that he liked and if you didn't like it then don't listen to it. Very simple. Frank could get different musical sounds from a wide range of sources including car horns to burps. I don't think he cared if the music had any commercial potential.
Music is the best. -

I thought there was a CHANCE, that at an adult forum, we might discuss the music he wrote for adults. But the children run this place so it's the kid's songs that get the press.
"I enjoy hearing some of the music I write played by a large orchestra. This costs a lot of money. So I get that money by selling R&R albums."
In other words, he sold a lot of drivel to a lot of clowns, and I got to hear the LSO play his stuff as a result. Thank you. -
lather..the 3 disc collection fz wanted to release, but never got around to, offers enough variety to please all fans, imho....the selections that made it to: studio tan, are addicting to me..ymmv of course..i think they are in the adult mold that GG refers to..no words (mostly) just uncle frank doing what he does best

George one of the most riviting and powerful classical compositions by Zappa is on 200 Motels. The funny thing is that it is hidden with lyrical selections which I also enjoy. Listen to the following selections:
13. Centerville
14. She Painted up Her Face
15. Janet's Big Dance Number
16. Half a Dozen Provocative Squats
17. Mysterioso
18. Shove It Right In
19. Lucy's Seduction of a Bored Violinist & Postlude
You will hear Zappa go from very serious classical music to live Zappa band music with lyrics in six phases, three classical & three band lyrics.
What I did was make CD recording with only the three classical sections and omitted the three lyrical sections.
This classical recording without the lyrics is powerful, intense and may I even say profound.
Try it! -
Gotta love Frank-
