What you guys fail to understand is NO ONE gets screwed over on this deal

They rape costumers all day long. If you've ever purchased a thing from CC in your life, this little shipment back still probably won't cover what they made off you unless you bought a CD off them where they average $4.50 profit per CD after all expenses.

Oh yes they do!! The next customer in the door is the one getting screwed! He has to pay the few pennies that have to added to the price of any and all products because of unethical customers/employees. The people that work at the return/customer service counter have to be paid for the time they spend accepting returned murchandise, the guys in the back of the stiore have to be paid to get the returned items ready for the truck to take it back to the manufacturer. The trucking company has to pay it's employees for driving the truck, fuel, insurance, benifits, overhead, etc. The manufacturer has to pay the wages for the people in receiving that take delivery of returned merchandise/products, and lets not forget the employees in the front office that are spending time tracking returned merchandise, or the the people in inventory who have to make sure that every item that comes in the door is properly processed through their department as well. So how about the security guard that patrols the warehouse at 3 AM to make sure that some of the returned items don't grow legs and wander off into the darkness in someones mini-van, he needs to get a paycheck as well. It goes on and on and on.... But nobody gets hurt. Except the next guy in the door that has to pay a few pennies extra to offset the cost of dishonest consumers!

I'm sorry your deal went to crap, but you need to be able to look at yourself in the mirror and know you did the right thing. I wish you the best of luck with the receiver and hope that things work out for ya. Hell you might want to post the guy's phone number here, I'll call him myself and ask him to do the right thing, and I'm sure a few others around here would be willing to place a courtesy call as well.

You need to still file with ebay... while you will likely not get a dime now, they will still get after the seller...

PayMontana, you should have been WAY on top of this before now. Have you filed anything with Safe Harbor/ Ebay? You need to at least make yourself heard, very loudly I might add. Ebay has protection, you just have to work and type your **** of to get it. Same with PayPal.

I had my PayPal account hacked and someone used my funds to make a purchase. Blah, blah...PayPal was very nice, and I got 100% of my money back. You need to be active the minute you are in question of any transaction.

I contacted Onkyo today. My 800 will be back by monday. That will be just over a week since I shipped it. I am impressed if it is fixed. They blamed it on my speaker set up. I don't know or care as long as it is fixed. If you ever have to mail one in I strongly suggest mailing it to their regional shop instead of the local yocal.I am very happy with the speed of their service. Onkyo comes well recomended here.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the way that read would be to say that they tested it, found nothing wrong, and concluded that you set your speakers up wrong, so they're sending it back to ya......

If I were you, I'd ask for a detailed list of what parts were replaced and what tests were run......

Guess it did sound that simple but they said possible speaker wiring made protective circuitry shut down the whole unit. We will see.
