Just hooked up my surroundbar 4000 and have a problem with the supplied opitcal cable being very loose and coming out. during use. This is the jack on the sound bar only.
The jack on my Samsung led tv fits the plug very snug.
Tried reversing the ends and it still occers on the soundbar end.
Apart from returning it for another, what does anyone suggest?

Also would Toslink optical cables be a noticable improvement over those supplied?

i had a problem with my new television and the optical cable being loose. To be honest, I just wasn't pushing it in hard enough. I applied some force and it snapped in. Hasn't given me a problem since. Not sure if thats your problem but may want to try it. There is a lip on a lot of the optical cables and when they are new it takes a bit of pressure to snap them into place.

I would recommend using a different optical cable. Some fit better than others.

For example, my Denon AVR-5800 works best with high-end optical cables (such as my Straight Wire Optical), but a cheaper Monster cable keeps falling out.

I got this one and I thought there was something wrong with my AVR port or with the cable itself. However, with a little pressure this "snapped" in and holds tighter than any other optical cable I have owned. The Monoprice ones are nice, but they would fall out consistently with my gear.
