Parasound Amp Pro needed!

Amp is a Parasound HCA-1206, I noticed that the right channel wasn't putting out the volume it should be, fixed what I thought was a wiring problem but it came back...

Started wiggle testing and found the volume control knob to induce static in the sound and would not hit the same volume as the other channel, so I'm thinking its bad... Is it possible to bypass it by jumping a wire to the volume knobs terminals on the board?

Yes it is possible. But I think I would get some contact cleaner and spray the volume pot down and work it back and fourth to work the gunk loose, the spray again.

Hey I like that idea! Any particular product you would recommend?

There are many to chose from. I'm not sure which would be the best. The stuff from radio shack or parts express should work fine.

In the audio world, Deoxit seem to be the "gold standard" for contact treatments.

If it's a hermetically sealed pot contact cleaner will not help.

So, to follow up on this, upon closer examination there are in fact little holes in the volume pots. I kept running out of time to swing by the local Deoxit supplier, so I found this stuff at Radio Shack while getting something else:

Figured I'd give it a shot, and it worked great!

    Thanks for the help guys!
