Hi,
Just received Soundbar 4000, turned it on and there's a static-scratching sound appeared. I don?t know what I?m doing wrong. I have the optical cable in soundbar and to the cable box. Should I try something else? That sound is very LOUD and I?m almost afraid to turn it on. Happens only when turning on. My set up is very simple, cable box, HDMI cable to TV. If anyone else experienced this or has a solution let me know.
thank you.

Are you in a DTS mode, and not DDII mode?

    Koch,

Is there an optical output on the TV? If so move the optical cable to this, and turn off internal speakers in the tv via menu.

    Hope that helps.

I would try changing your cable box audio output to 2 channel PCM and see if the issue persists.

Front projection, 2 channel, car audio... life is good!

You need to go into the audio options menu of your cable box and make sure the setting is correct.
