I'm in the Why? crowd as well. I come here to talk SDA. I go there to see family pics. FB has it's place but not for SDA with me.
Besides. If I joined I'd have to set more filters to keep all the trolls out.Too much **** to list.... -

If it wasn't for this forum, there are a number of things I would have done different with my system, and they all would have been bad. Love the help around here, love the vast knowledge, and the people are great. Also, I hope you can agree that by putting up a little page about Polk SDA speakers on fb is in no way meant to say/mean/do anything in controversy to this page or Polk Audio. Thing is...I, like many, happened to be logged in to facebook quite a bit. Joining fb pages is handy cause during the day the things you are interested in will just pop up there to see. You don't have to hit your bookmark and go to a site and search around...it just pops up. Additionally, just as you choose to enter this forum from your browser, you have the choice to like a fb page, or not. Obviously if you do not use facebook, you are welcome to just ignore all of this. Anyhoo, time to have a beer and watch football.
Au contraire . . . No arguments here about your "right" to do this.
It's just that in my opinion it's a **** move to brag about it here. Polkaudio.com/forums has been graciously provided to us by Polk to do exactly what you stated you are trying to do. You have the right to your agenda, but I simply don't understand it.
Why dilute the amazing platform we have here?
I guess from your vigorous defense of your action your intent was not bad, but I don't think you thought it through that the impression would utimately be extremely negative here.VTL ST50 w/mods / RCA6L6GC / TlfnknECC801S

I have considered building a forum just for the vintage Polks where all that would be discussed is the older models that are now out of production, like the old monitors and SDAs. I think it would be an asset to the Polk community to have a forum that focuses only on the vintage Polks and prohibits posts about other brand speakers and all the other off topic subjects that are frequently discussed here. It had never crossed my mind that I would be chastised as an outcast for trying to to something good for vintage Polk owners.- SDA 2BTL · Sonicaps · Mills resistors · RDO-198s · New gaskets · H-nuts · Erse inductors · BH5 · Dynamat

If Polk deceided to transfer all this to facebook as many companies have done I would not join. I have no facebook myspace or any other of those type of accounts. This and American Chiclid assoc. are the only places I go to make any comments or help a friend out.
have fun on your FB SDA page:frown: -
Seems as though the SDA Club on here sorta laid a deuce and died a quiet death , I can only imagine what sort of flotsam an FB page would attract. It might be fun to watch. (more fun than the one here anyway)

That's what this section is for, Hello!
Look guys, do what you want, but none of that stuff is needed as the Polk family is already here. Sadly, much like the American family concept, it seems the benefits of the Polk family are lost on some.Political Correctness'.........defined

I will never be a Facebook type of guy, the wife loves it..
I vote we put Tools work up on the Facebook SDA Page.Statistics show that 98% of us will die at some point in our lifetime.
The other 2% will work for WalMart. -

My comment was not meant for Polk to ever "transfer" to Facebook.
If Polk ever felt the urge, they should build a simple "official" Polk Facebook page linking directly here at www.polkaudio.com.VTL ST50 w/mods / RCA6L6GC / TlfnknECC801S

Its just a Facebook page dudes
Besides Polk Audio already has a Facebook page- Not Tom ::::::: Any system can play Diana Krall. Only the best can play Limp Bizkit. -
It's a free Country, do what you want. It's not at all necessary. The real SDA enthusiasts are here and will remain here. I utilize Facebook, but becoming a member of the SDA page is redundant and unecessary for me personally. The friendships and interactions all take place here on Club Polk and I'm fine with that.
H9"Appreciation of audio is a completely subjective human experience. Measurements can provide a measure of insight, but are no substitute for human judgment. Why are we looking to reduce a subjective experience to objective criteria anyway? The subtleties of music and audio reproduction are for those who appreciate it. I vote not.. I think Tool should make that decision. -
I am on facebook but I hate people that try to communicate with me through it. Call me old school but I still prefer email.
I use it just to be a nosy sob that think its hilarious the amount of personal info some idiots share on there. -
okay i think there may need to be clarification to a few here what facebook really is.
facebook is nothing. facebook means nothing. facebook won't get you a raise at work but it could get you fired. facebook wont make you more attractive but it might get you laid. everything that happens on facebook means nothing in real life.
dont get offended by things that happen on facebook because facebook is nothing.
dont take anything on facebook to seriously because facebook is nothing.
dont say or show anything on facebook that you wouldnt want the whole world to know....and i mean literally the whole world.
if you treat it like nothing, then you wont be a slave to its information (read: addicted to facebook) and you wont get discouraged by whatever happens there.
with all that said, i think the Polk SDA page is cool. its a cool spot to talk about things that i think are cool. and i leave it at that. its not taking away from any other forum to discuss such material. its not claiming to be the original or penultimate.
its just facebook....for those that arent on it, youre really not missing much.....for those on it, dont take it so serious.
