I guess when you smoke too much pot in your day, you do this kind of wacky stuff. Poor kids, poor, poor kids. I would consider this a form a child abuse.

That article doesn't make any reference to what the couple did when they were young. Not sure where you got that factual information from. Have you been smoking too much?

Guess you need to report me as my 8 year old boy is running around in a pink power rangers costume and plays with dolls. I also have a 3 year old girl who likes to wear a spiderman costume and play with cars. Smoking pot has nothing to do with it. Harder drugs maybe. I must be one of the most f'ed up people in the world if smoking pot in your younger years messes you up later in life. Tony, have you ever smoked any????? Have you any first hand exp. on said affects??? The only real long term problem I have seen associated with marijuana is in the form of weight gain(damned munchies). No abuse trying to keep your kids free of stereotypes. Personally I wouldn't because there are just so many different types of stereos that I wouldn't want them to miss out on one. Really though how are ever going to have world peace if we can't get past stereotypes?

Smoking pot and stupidity are coincidental at best. Now drinking and driving....that's stupid and there are millions more doing that. It's hard to have objective studies on a restricted substance. There are no real world results if you are restricted to lab conditions.

At any rate...These wacko's need some Lithium not Pot. It takes a serious mental condition to purposefully try to affect or deny gender identification. Chaz for example....

I am glad that we didn't have this kind of thinking when we were living in caves, or our ancestors would have never moved beyond the trees.

I have nothing against any particular group, but this is a great reason why homes should have moms AND dads, rather that two mommies/daddies. Children are human beings, not an effin' lab rat for a misguided social experiment.

Two women who don't go with the "norm", don't want their little one to be like the "norm" either. And that is what is eating at a "norm". society every day. Change is good , right....sometimes not.

Did you hear Dark meat chicken is now good for you?? I've been eating it anyway over the years because I liked it. I didn't change and now, the supposed good choice of meat (new study again....LOL) has returned to me....what a joke, change is good.

Let your kid or kids be known for what sex they were born with. If they go against the grain themselves, then let them go when they choose. WHY Hide IT???? that's STUPID psychologigal deranged nonsense!!!!T

this society and country has bent over for many wanting changes that their's nothing much left of the original solid foundation this country and society was built and GREW upon.

Give it a week and they will be telling us lead acid is good for you. FDA is totally effed up if you ask me. Heard they were trying to ban walnuts as they has some health benefits to them, and should be sold like a prescription drug. WTF...FDA= F'ing Drunk A$$holes. So much Stuff has been labeled as bad for us, but we are allowed to put shellac in candy, arsenic in apple juice and a whole bunch of other stuff that we can not pronounce and have no idea what they are.

Well, if you think about it, we have already. Discrimination laws, hate crimes are now illegal to certain groups. I would guess those laws are by design to control or limit hatred.

Yes I know kids are not lab rats.
Discrimination laws do not control hatred, just makes acts of hatred punishable. Only one person can stop the rage of hatred.

They may limit "behavior", but they can do nothing to limit the actual "hatred" or expression thereof.

Well, I agree, but in essense, to limit something is to partialy control it, no ?

Hatred is something that is never fully eliminated in any of us, this I agree with, though as a society we sure believe we can.

As long as they treat their kids no worse than the Amish would, I don't see a problem with it. Now if they planned to raise the kid and discourage natural curiosity, or outside exposure I would be worried. Is it what we consider proper parenting, probably not. But what actually is? Each child is different and requires it's own attention. The reason they might have done that was to avoid favoritism in the extended families. Would I do it, do I think it's right, no.

Hatred is normal and should be embraced, not discouraged. However, actions based on a hatred are not normal and should not be tolerated.

As for pot......yeah, there's a reason it's called dope.

As for that couple....they are whack jobs with no business having children.

I don't understand what gender has to do with stereotyping. It's pretty simple. If you have a penile projection you're male, if you have a ver-gina you're female and if you have both you're a hermi. It's the laws of nature not "slotting people into boxes" :rolleyes:

Anyway, this whole business about not allowing children to be social experiements... They are ALL social experiments, regardless of who raises them or how they are raised. There is no one-size-fits-all method of raising children, and everyone is free to raise their own however they see fit. I probably don't agree with how you raise your children, but hey, their yours. I'm sure you'd be about as receptive to someone criticizing the job you're doing with your own kids as these parents would to your criticisms.

Some of the reactions I am reading here are absolutely abhorrent.
