I was hoping you all could give some recommendations on speaker choices.
I just need something to listen to. I've been with out tunes for close to a year now.
Associated gear.
Jolida 1501BRC Integrated
Jolida JD100 CDP
All Signal Cables.
Price willing to spend. $300-$500
Canidates so far.
LSi7's and sub of some sort?
SDA 1c's
SDA 2b's
Any other recommendations will be appriciated.
Thanks
Nik

Room size?
I vote for the SDA's and then add RD0's and a x-over refresh.
Btw, I still have and use the HCT hybrid tube amp you sold me.

That HCT is a fun little amp. Glad to hear you've still got it.
As far as room size. I'm not sure exactly. I'll measure when I get home. But its prolly around 12x14 give or take. Not very big. Living room. Couch, love seat, coffee table and tv...
I'm leaning towards SDA's also. I can take the money I would need for a sub with the LSi's and put towards Tweeters and crossover mods...
i'm also not opposed to any non polk speakers either... Just looking for bang for buck and something thats going to marry well with the related gear..

Heard all three. Still own all three. The LSi's are very nice, especially if you have a space constraint, but there's nothing like SDA's if you've got the room. I vote SDA's.
Also, consider the Magnepan MMG's (or possibly even MG-12's, depending on the deal), if you're into that type thing.:biggrin:2-Channel: PC > Schiit Eitr > Audio Research DAC-8 > Audio Research LS-26 > Pass Labs X-250.5 > Magnepan 3.7's

Not sure the Jolida would power the Maggies properly, but a good suggestion too.

The wattage is good, as long as it does well with a 4ohm load.2-Channel: PC > Schiit Eitr > Audio Research DAC-8 > Audio Research LS-26 > Pass Labs X-250.5 > Magnepan 3.7's

Doh, I forgot that's a hybrid, with tubes at the input but solid state at the output. Should work with Maggies.

The MMG's were actually at the top of the list at one point. But after some research found that they can be a little anal as far as postioning and the sweet spot is very small. Im wanting something with a little easier placement and more forgiving as far as power is concerned. Plus. Thats another speaker that would need a sub... I'll hear them someday. There just not the NEXT speaker for me.
