What's the going rate for a used one of these in good shape?
Is it worth a damn, in terms of performance?

DSW Pro660WI usually sells on sale for $349 from New Egg. Same speaker as the DSW PRO600 only 2x the wattage.AVR: Onkyo Tx-NR808
Amplifier: Carver A-753x 250 watts x 3
Fronts: Polk RTI A7 (modded by Trey VR3)
Center: CSI A4 (modded by Trey VR3)
Rear: FXI A4
Sub: Polk DSW Pro 660wi
TV: LG Infinia 50PX950 3D
Speaker Cable: AudioQuest Type 8
IC: AudioQuest Black Mamba II -
I have the 660, for 349, yes.
I am absolutely underwhelmed. It has a ported box - I didn't know that when I was buying (i can see the pic now, but I missed it)
It can move air, not bad for home theater. If you use it with the default down firing the floor of the entire house will vibrate. Front firing reduced vibration for me, and sounds better. But now it sits weird. Actually it sounds the best if the vent for the port is down.
DON"T FORGET TO TURN OFF LFE WHEN U LISTEN TO MUSIC : ) I almost returned it - it was distorting really bad.
But bottom line, no matter what you do it's not that good for music. It just doesn't kick sharp. It feels powerful but my C300 Polk sub in my car makes much cleaner and tighter beats on hip-hop music that this, even though this one is more powerful.
I will probably move to living room for HT and buy something else for music.I have found that tube based computers provide the best sound quality. ENIAC and MANIAC I offer a smooth, well defined and articulated sound unmatched by the current silicon based CPUs.jeremymarcinko wrote: »But as in all things your perception is your reality. -

My guess is that you do not have it set-up and calibrated to your room properly. -
That or perhaps there is a noticeable difference in volume that the sub is trying to fill (room size) as compared to his car...
Many factors involved when getting the most out of a sub. Placement especially. -
my room is 12x19. I have only a couple of options for location of the sub and I tried them both. I can't make any difference. Flipping it around does make some perceivable difference though.
If you sit in my car and I play DJ Unk - Walk It Out, when you hear the first beat your heart is gona skip. The beats are so sharp.
I have HT Omega Claro sound card too. The music I play from my PC is certainly higher quality than that in my car.
I am buying this soon, and will sell one of the two. Will see if it makes a difference. I don't expect the klipsch to be more powerful, but perhaps the beats can be sharperI have found that tube based computers provide the best sound quality. Mine sounds fine for music when I use it for that. Most of the time I just use my two RTI A7's and Carver amplifier, with no sub at all.AVR: Onkyo Tx-NR808

It just.. doesn't work right for music.
Say I listen to Maddi Jane, Forget about the price tag. The only instrument is one guitar, unplugged, and then her fantastic voice.
Well the first string of the guitar manages to pull some notes under 100 hrz. They get routed to my SW. The SW then manages to make like a disco beat from the guitar tempo. Everyone who's ever heard of guitar knows it sounds nothing like that. When lie-ing on my bed i literally feel the PAM PAM PAM from the SW, and there is nothing to feel in a real guitar.
If I turn it down enough so there is no PAM, then on the songs that there is strong beat I don't feel the beat.
If someone can suggest settings or give me any advice I would appreciate it, because I am growing unhappy with this sub. May be I buy 2 quality towers and use them for listening to music. All except hip-hop.I have found that tube based computers provide the best sound quality. Tell us the rest of your gear and what you currently have things set at and maybe we can better guide you to better sound.
Everyone is different, but I like towers for music myself and dumped using subs along time ago. Some really like the subs for music some don't. Thats just me though as I'm a big speaker type of guy.HT SYSTEM-

Your sub is obviously not setup properly. Without specific info about the other associated gear and settings it's hard to make suggestions.
One suggestion I can make is to put some time, energy, and research into getting it right, as opposed to just saying it's a bad sub.2-Channel: PC > Schiit Eitr > Audio Research DAC-8 > Audio Research LS-26 > Pass Labs X-250.5 > Magnepan 3.7's

http://www.polkaudio.com/forums/showthread.php?128116-Need-Help-with-settings-of-my-new-system!
these are my settings and gear. I am not using any effects anywhere. And I am not using the LFE on the sub either. XO is 100.
I must say, the highs from these POLK satelites come super clean even turned up very high. My friends told me they have never heard such clean sound in their life. And that was just Pandora, which is not that great quality. Perhaps the sound card processor feeds nice signal to the AVR. I don't know what 'bright' highs sound like, but the fidelity is absolutely fantastic, low volume or high.
But the sub... really grinds my gears.I have found that tube based computers provide the best sound quality. ENIAC and MANIAC I offer a smooth, well defined and articulated sound unmatched by the current silicon based CPUs.jeremymarcinko wrote: »But as in all things your perception is your reality. -
Going buy your other post sounds like you need to get rid of the statalight speakers for something that plays lower so your sub isnt forced to play so high.AVR: Onkyo Tx-NR808
