PSW150 Buzz when I touch back panel

Hello,
I recently got a PSW150 from someone who said it might have a short (?). I took it home, plugged it in to the wall socket and when I touched the auto power switch it started buzzing. I can touch any part of the panel and it buzzes. I took the panel off and looked at the components, and I'm pretty sure all the capacitors look okay. The power cord looks fine as well as the connections. Any idea what might be causing the ground problem?
thanks,

Welcome...
Sounds to me like when you touch the panel that you are creating the ground, or at least completing a ground loop. Are you a well-grounded individual? Sorry... I couldn't resist...
Try plugging it into a different house circuit. If the problem persists, it's the sub. If not, it's the house circuit.
In either case does it play? Play without the hum?More later,

Yes, I've tried plugging it in to a different circuit, but it still does it..............I haven't played it yet though - I plugged RCA cords in but that's as far as I got.
thanks! -
Most likely a ground loop. I would also try using a different cable. Sometimes, you just need to check your connections and it's something trivial.polkaudio RT35 Bookshelves
