I went all salesman on Anthony about your mods

When I got home,I unloaded speakers,did yard work,washed hands and set everything up.They sound incredible!
I know the speakers had crossover mods done and I personally never listened to an A7 before. Also,I've read and from owning the RTi8's,the RTi lines tend to be on the bright side when it comes to music.But as you said Praz,the mods did tame the brightness.Vocals are a lot more smooth,bass feels like it can get low and has a tighter feel.Overall a warmer presence in music.

Today I just opened my ears to the next level of sound.I must say this is an awesome hobby.

I realize that this thread is way sideways now but...for VR3 and your crossover modifications. What, how and why do I (you) do it. I suppose things sound better. I picked up some SDS-SRS from Chris up in Wisconsin about a month ago and he had also purchased them from someone on the forum. Chris said the crossovers had been done along with new tweeters and "dynamatting" the baskets. I have several sets of speakers both old and new and would like to learn this art/science of crossovers. Is there a thread dedicated to it. Thanks, Mike

Hey Mike - yeah just check the DIY section of CP. There are a number of threads on crossover mods. VR3, Ben62670, and I think DarqueKnight have all done it (amongst others).

When a manufacture builds a product they are trying to reach a price point - ultimately crossover parts suffer. They use 20 cent parts to save costs. Upgrading the parts is no different than putting upgraded parts on your car it draws out that last percentage.

OK ...had a stupid accident involving the RTi A1s. A bowl on one of my floor lamps fell and hit the edge of one of them. There are some tiny scratches on the edge now and possibly a faint scratch on the side. **** idiotic!! Anyway. I'm debating whether or not to continue keeping this up for sale since they're not pristine anymore. I'll post pictures after I get out of my current meeting...

The one on the side is like hairline thin, but you can see the tiny marks on the top edge. It's not bad ..but still, it was avoidable and stupid on my part.
