Polk RTi A7s, CSi A6, RTi A1s - Local Sale (SF Bay Area)

I'm continuing my audio journey and as such, I need to sell my current HT setup.

I purchased all of the speakers new:

RTi A7s - new from Frys in 2010
CSi A6, RTi A1s - new from Crutchfield in 2010

They've been well taken care of (smoke / pet / kids free) and have been in the same home / room since they were purchased.

The RTi A7s and CSi A6 crossovers were upgraded by Trey (VR3). See the thread in the DIY forum. In addition, the driver baskets have been dynamatted by myself.

The speakers have been pampered / spoiled like a rich only child. Parasound / NAD amps, Kimber / Signal speaker wire, crossover upgrades, etc. Frankly the electronics outclassed the speakers

Couple of things:
1 - The RTi A7s and CSi A6 are being sold as a package since they are upgraded.
2 - Local sale only.

Price:

Asking ~1/2 of what I paid for everything here (mods are free for you):

RTi A7s: $500
CSi A6: $200
RTi A1s: $150

Let me know if you have any questions. Pics below. I have feedback on audiogon under the same name.

Thanks for lookin,

Praz

Did I mention Trey added upgraded binding posts?!

I'm not sure there are even any Polkies here in the Bay Area. I'm all alone.

It's all good - these were my first new set of speakers and I enjoyed them immensely. The A7s were the reason I visited CP in the first place and well, you know how it goes once you're here. Your first class upgrades extended my enjoyment, but I've listened, learned from you guys, and it was time for something new.

I followed in pearsall001's (Phil's) footsteps and auditioned some KEF Q series. I really liked them - so as of 3 days ago, I am the owner of some Q900s and a Q600C center.

Ha! I know you can't wait to get your hands on them. Supposedly the crossover design is very minimalistic, so I'm not sure it's even necessary. Plus they just sound awesome :) I'm going to take a different approach this time. ICs and speaker cables first!

A buddy is trying to sell me a pair of Monitor 40's for $150. I'd much rather have RTi A1's over the M40's! Great prices!!

Thanks! I spent a few days with the RTi A1s a mains when Trey was modding the front stage - hooked to the Parasound A21, they sounded really nice - it was the first time I was listening to them not as surrounds.

Ha! I still need to post my full thoughts on the Qs - wanted to let them break in fully before I wrote something. I've been away from my audio systems since the first of the month b/c I'm house sitting for my parents while they're out of the country. So one more week and I can finally l head back to my place.

But yes - I've been thoroughly happy w/ the Q series so far :) I still have some tweaking to do - got some Kimber Hero ICs I haven't tried yet and may bring out my W4S Dac and try that w/ the Qs as well.

When I got home,I unloaded speakers, did yard work, washed hands and set everything up.They sound incredible!
I know the speakers had crossover mods done and I personally never listened to an A7 before. Also,I've read and from owning the RTi8's,the RTi lines tend to be on the bright side when it comes to music. But as you said Praz, the mods did tame the brightness.Vocals are a lot more smooth, bass feels like it can get low and has a tighter feel.Overall a warmer presence in music.

Today I just opened my ears to the next level of sound.I must say this is an awesome hobby.

Thanks Praz for the great deal and it was also nice to meet you.
