From Motor Trend....
the NSX will utilize a form of the new hybrid Super Handling-AWD (SH-AWD) system. The V-6, likely a 3.5- or 3.7-liter, will drive the rear wheels by means of a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox. Unlike the current SH-AWD system, which would send power to the front wheels by way of a driveshaft and a mechanical differential, the NSX?s front wheels will instead be powered by a pair of electric motors. As each motor is assigned to a wheel, the system has the ability to accelerate the outer wheel in a corner, creating a yaw moment that improves the car?s ability to turn in and rotate. All told, the system could produce a net punch of about 400 hp.

No prices were revealed. And it may be 3 years before the car goes into production. -
That is BA! Will never be able to afford one (save the lotto) but it will be cool to drool over!

My Neighbor has the last model , he keeps it in the garage and only drives it around in the summer. Never in the rain or high heat. He babies the hell out of it but it looks brand new. Sweet ride , the new one looks amazing. I'm sure he will be checking it out.Dan

They currently make the TL's in Ohio. Wonder if they are adding a plant, or coexisting? Interesting either way.65" Sony X900 (XBR-65X900E)

The original NSX was so sweet. Still looks like a new car 22 years later.2-Channel: PC > Schiit Eitr > Audio Research DAC-8 > Audio Research LS-26 > Pass Labs X-250.5 > Magnepan 3.7's

Kinda bummed they didn't stick with the 550HP V-10 supercar that they were working on a few years ago...

It does seem odd that they are using a 3.5. Doesn't seem to have that wow factor when you've already got 2 cars in the lineup using it. Still a badass car though.65" Sony X900 (XBR-65X900E)

Amazing what the originals still sale for, I have looked from time to time, but couldn't justify 30K for a 10-20 yr. old car. Much rather wait for the GTR prices to come down.

Blueboxer,
Pricing on original NSX is comparable to Porsche, Ferrari, Lambo, and other exotic cars from that era. Yes, it was a Honda product, but it also a mid-engine, all aluminum sports car that has the reputation of being one of the best handling cars ever. I think the pricing is appropriate for what you get.For rig details, see my profile. Nothing here anymore... -

I've got an MDX, which uses the SH-AWD system. Though the motor seems a little underwhelming.....Acura's SH-AWD is pretty damn impressive IMO. Slap a twin turbo on the 3.7 litre motor and you'd have a legitimate super-car killerMy System Showcase!

I'm not... that car shares absolutely nothing with the NSX except it can go fast. I would like to see a pullback from the eco version and see them use the V10 however. The Gear... Sweet lines... and it's a green car...polkfarmboy wrote: »What will the retail on it be ?... rumors suggest that Honda wants to see the new Acura NSX driven so the price is expected to be well below the $375,000 price tag of the Lexus LFA.

Wasn't he original NSX $85k-ish?
The MT article also said, "Love it or hate it, the new NSX's sheetmetal will certainly turn heads." If "sheetmetal" is literally true, the new one could still be under $100k, but I'd guess more $125k-ish...More later,

I think the original was under 80K and then it ballooned up to 100+ over the years. Not disputing that they are great cars, but the NSX and Supras do hold their value ridiculously well.

^^ Funny thing about that, is for a while I was looking at keeping my truck for winter, and getting a summer fun car. Had a new Acura TL (new in '04 that is) and loved it, but it didn't have that "wow" factor I was looking for. Spent just over 34k for that when it first came out.
Gas prices went through the roof, so it was no longer feasible to drive my truck 100+ miles each day (Filling @ $75, 3 times a week). The Acura payment was just over $550, plus you throw the insurance on top of that, I was paying over $700 a month to store a car for the winter months. Sold them both.
In the meantime, I had started to look at some semi-exotics, and almost bought myself a Viper. Can you believe you can get a viper for low to mid $20k? Talk about a plummet in resale. I couldn't believe I could buy a Viper and cut my car payment in half almost.
NSX's never did get into the territory that I was in the market for. lol65" Sony X900 (XBR-65X900E)

Based on style alone, I'm glad they didn't build that one you linked to. I like the sound of the drive train, but Honda is about the only company that can make $110k car look like it cost $50k. Well, along with Volkswagen and the Phaeton.
Don't get me wrong, it may have been insanely awesome, but that car just looks too much like a handful of models that are already on the road and start on the low 30's.
That new NSX is sweet. It looks like a supercar should: exotic.
Also, I like the idea of the electric motors up front. Mitsubishi did this on their Eclipse concept in the mid 00's when they were previewing the current iteration they sell now. I'm surprised more companies haven't jumped on this idea, and even in more pedestrian models as its implications seem broadly useful.design is where science and art break even. -
I've always liked the original nsx. If this does make it into production, I'm sure it will be a very cool car.
-
A family friend has a 99' Alex Zanardi Edition NSX. I have seen it out of the garage once.
He does not drive it at all...
It's a shame to have such a cool car, but let fear of harm coming to it prevent you from enjoying it... -
It's been reported that Honda will build a completely new assembly plant in Ohio, without seeking tax incentive, to build the new NSX. Honda intends to keep the price of the new NSX at under $100K. The new NSX will be developed jointly in Japan and in the US, but the Ohio-build NSX will be exported to other world markets.
-
That new NSX better be good given Lexus' US-spec LFA Nurburgring Edition just landed....0-60 in 3.6 seconds with a top speed of 202 mph.

That's so fast some politicians might be able to make the trip to "Mars" in it! lol
Fast expensive cars! What else is new?
BTW, where's the bikini clad lass that goes with the car? You want to sell cars for American males you better get with the program, Acura, Lexus! Oh, and the topees for all those guys over 50 that are going to buy these! lol
Topee with an "optional" airbag? There's a luxury idea.
We have some "car" guys here. What's the "mark up" on the upscale horseless carriage these days?
