The "new" Audiogon

Has anyone checked out the new Audigon? I don't know, maybe they are still working on it, but as it stands right now it's a complete disaster.
Why do people feel the need to change what already works to perfection?

I agree Jesse. I hope like The Polk Audio Forum that what they have done is not the final version of thier tinkering and they continue to modify until it's easily usable again.

Taken from a recent Audioholics reply regarding "Club Polk" and Polk speakers:
"I'm yet to hear a Polk speaker that merits more than a sentence and 60 seconds discussion."
My response is: If you need 60 seconds to respond in one sentence, you probably should't be evaluating Polk speakers.....

What I don't like is when I search for something for sale like "Audio Research", it lists all the Audio Research components for sale in a single list like it did before - except it does not show if it is a amp, a pre-amp, a cable or whatever. You have to then filter the list by selecting the correct category of component you want to view. It seems like a lot of extra clicks to see everything related to my search that is for sale by component type.

It sucks!!!

If this is the "final" product form I believe they have made a blunder that will haunt them for a long time. The old format was easier to navigate, easier on the eyes for long pursuing sessions, and did not seam in dire need of a change. The real contrast exists because some of the sub pages are still in the old format and switching between the two gives a true stark contrast of old to new. I hope there are many additional changes to complete in this update that will make the site as user friendly as it was previously.integrated w/DAC module Gryphon Diablo 300

I gotta say... I really like the ability to narrow a search based on price, item, condition, etc. (all simultaneously, if need be). Nifty.
And I also think the new look is cleaner.
Guess I'll be in the minority here.I never had it like this where I grew up. But I send my kids here because the fact is you go to one of the best schools in the country: Rushmore. Now, for some of you it doesn't matter. You were born rich and you're going to stay rich. But here's my advice to the rest of you: Take dead aim on the rich boys. Get them in the crosshairs and take them down. Just remember, they can buy anything but they can't buy backbone. Don't let them forget it. Thank you.Herman Blume - Rushmore -
What am I missing?, no search by zip, and no second, third....etc. for pages! unless you switch to 200 items per page from the default of 50 how do you advance through the listings?

the only thing constant is change.
Not a big Audiogon fan (edit: nor, truth be told, a fan of constant change either)... but give 'em a bit of time to work out the kinks. -

Hate it so far.
Did a search for "Pass Labs" and got cd's and TT cartridges for sale as well as other BS that has nothing to do with "Pass Labs". Not sure how their search filters work, but it sucks and I won't be going there too often. A shame really, because they used to do a better job than Ebay, now it's a similar format.
We'll see as they move forward if they can refine it to function similar to the old site, somehow I doubt it.

I agree with the general sentiment here. H9 hit on a key issue that I've seen as well - the search feature just doesn't work well. I wonder if the new search feature is searching the entire ad text whereas the old one only searched the title text. This could explain the issue. If this is the case, they need to provide an option to only search the title text like eBay and Craiglist do.

Terrible just horrible. Some things are better left alone.
-
Not work safe anymore - when I went to check on Integrated amps I get a side bar ad for "idate asia.com" and pictures of asian chicks

It does list everything with "Pass Labs" in the title of the listing first, so you should be able to easily ignore any of the listings toward the bottom. It's just more thorough. I'm sure there is a way to filter for "Title Only". But as I said, it lists those first anyways.
Come on guys. Not everything "new" sucks. Would everyone here just prefer to go back to Geocities?I never had it like this where I grew up. It has potential. I think they are really trying to improve the search functions. That being said, this first version is buddy as hell.

I think it blows big time. I was going to list a good set Unity Fountainheads over there today. Forget it now. I don't have enough posts yet to list hereJeff

Hmm.....no issue like that on my end. Perhaps my office has better filters. I'll check again when I get home."Appreciation of audio is a completely subjective human experience. They seem to have taken parts of it offline now - hopefully making positive fixes.
