I just purchased a set of monitor 60s online from NewEgg.com and one arrived with a dent in the back edge and the speaker grill smashed. Their RMA policy requires the customer to pay for the return shipment. So before I spend $50 shipping this back for a replacement I wanted to know if I can get a replacement grill direct from polk either under warranty or as a separate purchase for less than the cost to ship. Also I am curious if should be concerned about problems with the speaker performance down the road assuming it took a blow during shipping. It looks just like the side back edge of the left side panel was dented in. I don't see any sort of a crack or gap where the side and back panels meet.

Closed Monday, call Tuesday, but really you should get the replacement from NewEgg.com.

I know that's newegg's policy, but I've called them out on it, and they've always provided me with a return label.

I would try and contact Polk first, and if that is unsucessful - chat with a NewEgg CSR and I am sure you will be taken good care of. If you're going to have a problem, I'd say you are dealing with 2 of the best companies you could be.

My take: if the speaker suffered the kind of impact that broke the grill and dented the back edge, through the shipping container, I would return it. Who knows what kind of hidden damage might have occurred. I'll bet if youlean on Newegg they'll make it right at no cost to you.
