MicroPRO 2000 sound issues

I just finished tuning (roughly speaking) my new MicroPRO 2000, which just came out of the box. It was shipped, which might be an important detail as my story progresses. Anyway, at first I was having trouble with the remote. It rarely works, but I got it to work long enough to use the "room" feature.

Anyway, the long tones sound great, but the bass hits make an awful "fwub" sound. I have it literally on volume 2-3 out of 40, and I'm playing music quietly. I don't know much about subwoofers, but it sounds like other subs do when you turn them up way too loud (is this when the cone makes contact with the holder?).

This is very concerning to me, and I'm wondering if maybe it was damaged during transit. Any details anyone could provide would be very welcome!

By the way, this is not a subtle sound. It doesn't take someone with sensitive ears to hear this; my half-deaf father took one listen and asked, "what the hell is wrong with that little black box?"

Same answer as before - you're going to have to call them during their business hours. You have 5 minutes today! Don't know what their hours might be tomorrow, though. Looks like the number on the top right is for ordering. Try this:

Yeah, I called them at around 5:00 EST and they were already closed. Probably left early for the Holidays. I'm almost positive it was damaged in transit. I went back and inspected the box, and the Styrofoam shows obvious signs of abuse. *sigh*

Well, we've all seen boxes being tossed around lately... Hopefully you'll get it sorted out quickly. It's a nice little sub.

Take a look inside the port on the bottom. See if there is *anything* in or around there that could be interfering with the air movement. I had a sub that started making weird sounds, and found a small piece of the polyfill caught up in there. Once I removed it, the sound was gone.

It's a sealed unit with a passive radiator - no port.

Yeah, and it actually got worse. If you could hear it now you would cover your ears and scream for me to turn it off. It's only the kicks though: when I listen to some Beethoven or Sibelius, the string bass actually comes out okay (as long as they aren't pizzing). But anything with a synth bass beat, like deadmau5 or Bassnectar.... oh god...

I think I'm just going to get it returned first thing Monday. Hopefully the next one isn't destroyed on the way!
