I am sorry, I have no opinion on the matter. I am sure you do. So, don't mind me, I just want to talk audio and pie.

Yeah I saw that on a couple computer forums. Unreal. It would be halfway understandable if the box was unmarked but it was clearly marked and you could tell it was a monitor. Hope the lazy **** delivery guy got a good reaming from his boss but I doubt it.

fortunately, no, Mike. Apparently it is a known thing with UPS and Fedex that they hate fences. My house has no fence (still, no excuse to throw packages like that).

FWIW, it's a bad time of the year to ship anything fragile.

Instead of standing there filming this for over 3 min, couldn't the guy/gal just move the box up the line. Probably not his/her job.

By the looks of it, that video was shot by a security camera in So Cal, perhaps Beverly Hills. I wonder if that was not one of the 99% crowd getting even with the rich guy.

That's pretty impressive but scary. I have some ebay gear coming tomorrow or Thursday and now you guys have me "worrying" about it even more than I normally do?

There is no difference between either carrier, just your own experience. They ALL do the same exact things. I ship almost 1K packages a year using UPS/FedEx and never filed a claim nor had to. Did some of those items arrive worse for wear? Of course but they were packaged properly.

I have found that items that are clearly labeled in regards to the contents, usually take it worse....like Polk speakers to members for the Demo Program. That being said, only the packaging has been replaced.

^ I get great stories from one of my friends who works as a supervisor loading trucks for UPS... like boxes of porno bursting open on the belt and 15 employees stand around to look at the back of the case... or beef jerkey ripping open in the same fashion and everyone eating it.

I guess just leave it sitting out side the fence and if it gets stolen the package was delivered. It is not like he spun around in circles to try to throw it to the front door.

I pretty much agree with this. I think it also matters where you are located since there are different depot's and drivers.

For instance, at one place I lived, UPS was horrible; late and lost packages were quite common. USPS was average, and FedEx was fantastic.

However, where I am at now, it is very much the opposite. FedEx has lost 2 or 3 packages over the last 3 or 4 years, and they are regularly late. However, both UPS and USPS have been reliable.

    You're right Mark.

I truly can only comment on my experiences. I've seen both depots here locally for each carrier and how effective it is to acquire if going through the carrier and how the handle freight. FedEx is the bomb up here compared to UPS. Hell, even at the office I've had the normal UPS driver toss a box right at me from about 9 ft away in hopes I caught it!

I agree though that proper packing is needed for today's high volume distribution market between carriers.

I do a lot of overnight stuff. The local Fedex driver knows me by name.
In this area, Fedex is the way to go. But I'm sure like anything else,
it's not the company but the people you're working with.

    Inconclusive!
There could be a mountain of pillows on the other side of the fence. This video doesn't tell the whole story.
Maybe the voice on the intercom said "Hey, throw the monitor in the bushes and i'll send my Butler Jonathon to fish it out.
Or maybe the owners ordered a "Broken Monitor" and the FedEx guy took it as his responsibility to give them what they ordered.

All i'm saying is, don't be so hasty to jump to conclusions.

It pretty much is what it is. A crappy delivery done by someone who doesn't care.
It doesn't take guys in labs coats to study that one.

Ok, I've never had an issue with UPS, FedEx or even the USPS lately, but today was the day of delivery of my new speaks from a bud for an early Christmas present, well I got ONE of them..."Hey, where's the other box??", must be on another truck says the guy...fair enough, they have weight issues to deal with, and these weigh 53lbs each. they said they tried to deliver today.....but me thinks they lie, I was home...no one knocked, no note left on the door, the neighbor across the hall didn't hear anything either, and she hears all , so to stay OT, that chucker should be fired, I hope I get my other speaker today!! BTW, they're AR Connoiseur 40T's, very nice!!
