Anyone have any thoughts on this system. Thinking of getting it for my HT setup to be run with the VSX-23 (110 wpc). That would leave RTA8ts for 2 ch music to be powered by the 220wpc Kenwood.

Seems like a plan, but I have not heard the DT Pro Cin 1000.

I have the pro cinema 60.6 series. Works great for HT. But that was 8yrs ago and a few upgrades since. If you come around Cleveland i'm pretty sure Audio Craft carry's them.

very good system. it's on the bright side thought (like the Rti series bright), but better kinda of bright. I'd put it above rti

Remarkable sounding system for the money. Coming from Polk , you will greatly enjoy it. I have Installed many of them with Pioneer receivers with excellent results

Thanks for the info. I am hoping it will come down a bit. Huge price dif between the 800 and 1000. Is there enough difference in sound between these two systems to justify the price difference?

I have 800s with the 1000 center, but not one of their subs. They are really wonderful speakers. In a medium-sized room, they can almost achieve a level on par with my main HT... almost. Clean, clear, crisp sound. I highly recommend them, although I'm not sure how they'd fare if I moved them to my larger theater room, but for our smaller family room - perfect.

IMO, there's no need for external amplification, either. That Pio would be fine on its own.

Cool! That's what I was hoping to hear. Was looking at Klipsch and BIC too, as they are very efficient. Just not familiar with any of these.

I heard that some engineers at Deftech are actually came from Polk. I guess Polk didn't pay them high enough

My room is 18 x 12 with the listening position facing the shorter distance. I am probably 70-30 music, but I do like a nice HT system. Would the 800 suffice for a room of this size? I could use two subs in the setup

Get the 1000 system , it's much better and worth every single penny. And run 2 subs.

Gotta tell you that I'm not quite as fond of these for music, but I think that probably has a lot to do with my less-than-optimal room setup, as well as the fact that sat/sub systems can be tricky as far as getting the crossover right. This might be easier with the larger sats.
