My wife goes into surgery this morning at 8:30 for knee replacement surgery. We are hoping that this is the trick that will put her back on the golf course this summer. Other than her family, that is where she loves to be. Appreciate some good thoughts from the gang. Thanks folks.
Michael ;)

My Mom has had two knee replacements at 57 years old and she's back on the ice curling. In fact, she was just in North Dakota and schooled a bunch of Canadians from up north. She will be making birdies in no time.

A prayer sent your way for her to have a non eventful surgery and fast recovery. I saw alot of people in rehab after their knee sugeries and they seemed to loosen up and get flexable pretty fast. 2 weeks to 3 and she'll be alot better.
Most people just listen to music and watch movies. I EXPERIENCE them.

Thanks for all the nice and positive thoughts folks. I am in Yellowknife and my wife is in Edmonton. Long story, but a fact of life living in the North. Talked to my wife twice today and she was really sedated. When she is released from the hospital in Edmonton (Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday) I will fly down and bring her home. New knee and and great upcoming Christmas to look forward to.(She would kill me for ending a sentence in a preposition - She was an English major in University). As well, she will have a nice massage chair as a Christmas gift to look forward to in the HT room. I can't wait until summer to see her back on the course. Thanks again everyone. You people are great. Merry Christmas and a great 2012 to all.

Vey good news, indeed. Assume she'll have to do some physical therapy, and there'll be some pain, to be sure, but that won't last long.

Speaking of physical therapy; you mentioned a massage chair for her but that may actually prolong recovery time. Perhaps a snow shovel (teflon coated blade, don't cheap out) might be more in order ? Surprise her with that and she'll be up and around in no time !
