Bev's been wanting a pup since Jake & Sam passed a year and a half ago, so we're picking up a rescue Pug/Boston terrier mix tonight. She's about 1 yr old, her name is Bella. Bev was so excited last night, she couldn't sleep. This is our first "compact" dog, so she'll be much eaiser to manage. She's at the vet right now getting her "mandatory for adoption" spaying and micro-chip--and Bev hasn't had a chance to see her yet (it was gonna be a surprise), just waiting on the phone call from the Vet to pick her up.

I'll post some pics later on. I've already nick-named her "monkey-face."

She should be a great dog. I've owned 4 BT's and won't own anything else. I have family members who have pugs also and, while I don't like their character quite as much, they're a great breed too.

Good luck with her! I hope she hasn't developed any bad habits over the past year... I prefer to get them very young, but my most recent BT was 7 mos. when I got her. She has been much harder to train than the others for this reason.

    Looking forward to the pics!

She seemed pretty calm for such a young dog. She was just about the only one NOT barking at the kennel--which is definitely a plus.

I've owned a few pugs, loved them all--and always liked but never had a Boston terrier, so I guess I got "double trouble"...LOL

I missed a pug about 3 weeks ago, because I didn't go down until after work--she got adopted quick. This time I went down as soon as I saw the listing on pet finder.

They had a lot of great dogs down there--they had just taken in a heeler mix (someone tied her off the fire stations flag pole) that was obviously "trained." Damn nice dog. She was responding to all sorts of commands that the gals in the office were giving her. I would have grabbed her myself, but heelers need to work/run, and our yard is tiny--and not cattle-filled. LOL

We're "walled in" with pool gates, that'd have to be one skinny javelina.

Skinny javelina's cook way too fast on the barbie and usually come out really chewy. I like me a nice plump javelina!

Good for you guys a rescue dog is the way to go, its nice that a neglected animal finds a good home. I bet she is happy, we have 4 rescue dogs, and they all are taken well care of. I hate to go into those shelters and see animals that are caged up, if my wife had her way we would have more. A lucky dog that Bella is.

Steve my wife sent me a text 8 months ago saying," I am bringing a puppy home" Twice I did not answer because I knew if I did not answer she would not bring it home. Next she called my phone and still I did not answer. Then called daughters phone and said hand the phone to me. Busted.

Long story short the little dog has been a huge blessing to all of us but especially my wife. Dogs are our best friends no doubt about it.

We also have 2 dogs, and I doubt I could go long without one (despite their annoyances sometimes).

Hope the new pup fits your needs nicely, they are a bit harder to spec out than audio gear since lots of their traits are subjective lol....

Your telling me. The lab saved me from going crazy when I moved to N.C., being that I left everyone I knew back in IA. She can be very annoying when daddy gets home from work, she'll use her head to bulldoze my hands for attention, and wont stop until I give her at least ten good minutes of attention, petting, fetching, wrestling, or whatever.

Shes just like every other women I've had in my life, annoying!

Hard to get her to stay still. She weighs 10lbs 8oz, and is a little over a year old. She is a lover, and likes to be right under foot at all times. Bev is eating it up, she's always had big dogs. As tiny as she is, I'm wondering if maybe she's a chihuahua/pug mix? She's no bigger than a average sized cat:

Thanks bud, she's a sweetheart for sure, and quite smart. Still making me nervous around the pool though--especially with the temp at 44 degree water. I wish it was summer, so I could teach her where to swim out. She's so small, I told Bev if she falls in, just net her out! LOL

I think you might be on to something there... The head and tail look chihuahua-ish to me. I have a petite Boston, and she's 13 lbs. 10 lbs. would be very small for a BT or a Pug. I would say she looks more BT than pug though--her coloration, with the blaze between the eyes, definitely came from BT bloodlines.

    Either way, she's damn cute!
