AMR-70 Speakers Popped, Now Don't Work At All

I have AMR-70 speakers and SB 5.1 which IS properly configured for the 5.1 setup. For a long time my speakers have been popping when nothing was playing and it was always loud even if the volume was down to right before you turn them off. I just ignored it and turned off my speakers thinking it was a problem with my computer. They had been popping for months. I read the other topic on this issue and discovered it probably wasn't my computer, but the speakers themselves. Just a couple of days ago, my speakers stopped working completely. None of them will make any sound. Occasionally they all come on for a few seconds and then only one works and then it just stops. I discovered that jiggling the power cord and plugging it in only half way will make it work sometimes but that's also a very temporary fix. I just finished testing my speakers with a Walkman and NONE of them worked at any volume level. Polk is a brand I trust so its not like I'll be doing any boycotting or something. What should my next step be in resolving this issue? Thank you for your cooperation in this problem.

    Hello,
Thanks for posting on the Forum. I bet you have the AMR90 speakers, correct? The AMR70 is a two channel system. One thing I would examine is the DIN cable that goes from the satellite to the sub-woofer. Look into the connector, itself, and see if any of the small pins have been broken or bent. If they are bent, use a small pair of pliers or tweezers to carefully straighten any of the pins. Then carefully replace the DIN connector into the sub-woofer and hopefully the problem will be gone.
If not, box up the 12 Volt transformer and the sub-woofer and send to Polk Audio, 2550 Britannia Blvd., Suite D, San Diego, CA. 92154. Please include a short note giving us your name, address and a copy of your sales receipt.
    Regards, Ken

    Hello Akidah,
Welcome to Polk's forum. I don't believe Polk is able to service the AMR series any longer, but you should contact Polk's customer service department at polkcs@polkaudio.com to be certain.
