Hi, I own a Polk psw1000. It just died on me. I have some experience in repairing electronics. I would send the amp to you for repairs, but i live in South Africa. Shipping fee will kill me. If I can find schematics on the power supply (640038 rev:1, im pretty sure i can fix this. I need to know what the voltage on connector J2 should measure and allso on CD- and CD+. At the moment if I unplug j2 I get Close to 5 volt on 2 pins. If I plug in j2 and measure voltage on corresponding pins on board 650041 rev:1 I get 0 volt. Is the output voltage from power supply (5v) not enough, or is this a short on pcb 650041? My gues is j2 supply standby voltage to 650041 which in turn should switch on power supply and sen voltage through CD- and Cd+ to 650041. Do I have it all wrong? Please help. I would love to get the "boom" back in my home theatre. Any advice would be GREATLY appreciated.

Is it possible to buy only the power supply section (640038 rev:1)?

    Hi,

does it have a fuse? if so.. pull it and check to see if it blew when you turned it on.. it's possible that it did.

    Thanks,
    compression stockings

Fuse is the first thing i checked. Only one fuse, and thats on the inlet socket. Still get voltage at the first small pcb with chip on. At the second chip I get one point with 5 volt. (not constant 5 volt. Fluctuate between 2 and 7 volt, but most off the time on 5v.) I think this supply standby voltage to the amplifier section which should send power on signal to power supply board, but I'm not sure if 5 volt is enough? I'm only guessing here. Cant say for sure without schematic. Would really appreciate input from someone with troubleshooting experience on this Bash amps.

Contact Polk Customer Service. I believe with your circumstances they may share the schematics with you. I say this because the BASH design is proprietary. Also, they should be able to provide you with the details for a replacement amplifier.

Thanks, I did contact them. They sended me a schematic, but they only have a schematic available for the feature board (630166 rev:6)
They allso have the replacement amp available, but with shipping to South Africa it just dont make sense to spend that much on the sub woofer. Maybe I should seal the amp section off and convert it to a passive sub. Not sure where to find a suitable external amplifier.
