Sat on that fence along time myself. I would encourage all to read over some of the threads we have on the squeezebox or computer music in general. Tons of good info to help you get the most out of computer music.

Great Logitech deal. Anyone who can't decide by tomorrow, I believe the Expo deal to be good through 12-31. I'm not possitive however. Bottom line, if any of you guys are still on the fence get off! You will understand the hype when you get one.

Sorry to see Logitech drop the duet

It's not Logitech my friend, it's the wonderful taxes companies up there have to add to the price of goods. Should be no love from the Canadian government.

perhaps I should have been more elaborate... my comment was in relation to Logitech NOT offering the deal to Canadians. Don't know how that has to do with Government...

If anything on a off topic matter, there are many questions to how prices differ here to the states especially when our dollar exceeds yours.

But back to the original topic, I too, want a squeezebox. :(

So buy it.....at 329.00 it's still a good deal for what it offers. As for the rest, we can save that for another thread.

Correct, it's a bargain at Retail. In the words of Stereophile:

"Logitech's Squeezebox Touch offers excellent audio engineering with no sign that it has been compromised to reach its low price point. This is especially commendable when you consider that, in addition to its audio circuitry, the Touch includes a Linux-based server complete with touchscreen display. I am amazed that all this can be done for $299.99.—John Atkinson"

I think you missed my point...

Anyways, I will buy one, when the price is "right".

I agree. I'm using the DAC from my Cambridge Audio 840C and using FLAC. Very little difference, if any, to playing the CD. The next step is to hard wire the one in my music room as it's only around 20 ft away and in the same room as my router.

I have the DAC part covered but haven't even begun to think about converting all my CDs. The Touch, out of the box, plus $5 a month for MOG is incredible. I haven't listened to so much new and interesting music, well, ever.

Seriously I have been a Squeezbox owner for over 3 years and was as skeptical and cantankerous as any serious audiophile here about if it was going to sound as good as my transport and dac. I have never once longed for the days of my cdp and dac, not once!!
