Sat on that fence along time myself. I would encourage all to read over some of the threads we have on the squeezebox or computer music in general. Tons of good info to help you get the most out of computer music.HT SYSTEM-

Great Logitech deal. Anyone who can't decide by tomorrow, I believe the Expo deal to be good through 12-31. I'm not possitive however. Bottom line, if any of you guys are still on the fence get off! You will understand the hype when you get one.

It's not Logitech my friend, it's the wonderful taxes companies up there have to add to the price of goods. Should be no love from the Canadian government.HT SYSTEM-

perhaps I should have been more elaborate... my comment was in relation to Logitech NOT offering the deal to Canadians. Don't know how that has to do with Government...
If anything on a off topic matter, there are many questions to how prices differ here to the states especially when our dollar exceeds yours.
But back to the original topic, I too, want a squeezebox. -

So buy it.....at 329.00 it's still a good deal for what it offers. As for the rest, we can save that for another thread.HT SYSTEM-

Correct, it's a bargain at Retail. In the words of Stereophile:
"Logitech's Squeezebox Touch offers excellent audio engineering with no sign that it has been compromised to reach its low price point. This is especially commendable when you consider that, in addition to its audio circuitry, the Touch includes a Linux-based server complete with touchscreen display. I am amazed that all this can be done for $299.99.—John Atkinson"Source: Bluesound Node 2i - Preamp/DAC: Benchmark DAC2 DX - Amp: Parasound Halo A21 - Speakers: MartinLogan Motion 60XTi - Shop Rig: Yamaha A-S501 Integrated - Shop Spkrs: Elac Debut 2.0 B5.2 -

I think you missed my point...
Anyways, I will buy one, when the price is "right". -
Got one for my dad for xmas... which means i get to test its SQ vs. my audio gd digital interface. I'll be sure to post a review, but it won't be till after xmas.
Oh, I may have also forgot to mention that I took ownership of a pair of Usher Dancer Mini 2's a couple weeks ago. Must have slipped my mind.:rolleyes:2-Channel: PC > Schiit Eitr > Audio Research DAC-8 > Audio Research LS-26 > Pass Labs X-250.5 > Magnepan 3.7's

'Tis the Season to SqueezeB, I guess...I am sorry, I have no opinion on the matter. I am sure you do. So, don't mind me, I just want to talk audio and pie.

Two words for Squeezebox owners: Flac/DAC.
I agree. I'm using the DAC from my Cambridge Audio 840C and using FLAC. Very little difference, if any, to playing the CD. The next step is to hard wire the one in my music room as it's only around 20 ft away and in the same room as my router.2 channel - Willsenton R8 tube integrated, Holo Audio Spring 3 KTE DAC, audio optimized NUC7i5, Windows 10 Pro/JRiver MC29/Fidelizer Plus 8.7 w/LPS and external SSD drive, PS Audio PerfectWave P3 regenerator, KEF R3 speakers, Rythmik F12SE subwoofer, Audioquest Diamond USB cable, Gabriel Gold IC's, Morrow Audio SP5 speaker cables. I have the DAC part covered but haven't even begun to think about converting all my CDs. The Touch, out of the box, plus $5 a month for MOG is incredible. I haven't listened to so much new and interesting music, well, ever.

Sure............NOW............you all jump on the bandwagon!!!
:cheesygrin::biggrin::razz::cool:
Seriously I have been a Squeezbox owner for over 3 years and was as skeptical and cantankerous as any serious audiophile here about if it was going to sound as good as my transport and dac. I have never once longed for the days of my cdp and dac, not once!!

Why are we looking to reduce a subjective experience to objective criteria anyway? The subtleties of music and audio reproduction are for those who appreciate it.
