So Pioneer Elite is now Sharp Elite? At least it is with TVs

I remember something about Pioneer ceasing production of its TVs and somehow having some sort of a tie-in with Sharp doing its production. I just came across the below review of the new Sharp Elite LED TV....

and I get an uneasy feeling that Sharp's connection with the "Elite" moniker will harm the reputation of Pioneer's Elite audio components.

Sharp has also been manufacturing their Blu Ray players for 2 years as well. Not much of Pioneer home audio left these days.

Yes, I bought a Pioneer BDP-330 Blu-ray player and it totally sucked. I was really a Sharp all along. Now I have the Samsung 6700 Blu-ray player and it's a dream.

Sharp makes LCD TVs. Pioneer Elite were plasmas. Whatever "true black" technology Pioneer sold to Sharp, LCD is still an LCD, and the viewing angles on that new "Elite" are not that great.
